SHAME: Evidence That Nana-Akufo Addo Plagiarised In His Oat Of Office Speech (Video)|The Republican New

By Ike A. Offor

The video evidence has emerged from oat of office ceremony of president-elect of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo in which he clearly yesterday plagiarised two United States presidents.

The video obtained by The Republican News limpidly showed the president-elect, who is today by constitution the president of Ghana, plagiarised the former president Bill Clinton’s 1993 inauguration speech.

In one of the lines,  president Nana Akufo-Addo  said “though our challenges are fearsome, so are our strength”.

Again,  in  another line he repeated exactly after the 1993 inauguration speech of former president William Jefferson ‘Bill’ Clinton  simply replacing Americans with Ghanaians and said “Ghanaians have ever been a restless, questing and hopeful people”.

This is clearly plagiarism and this is not the first time an African president would plagiarise an American president speech.

President Muhammadu Buhari in his speech to flag off a new national orientation or thought pattern with the theme “change begins with me” plagiarised president Barrack Obama. It is something that caused him some national embarrassment.

Hopefully, this would not become a headache for the new president of Ghana.

SHOCKING: Boy Playing With Very Friendly But Dangerous Stingray |The Republican News

By Ike A. Offor

The sight of this boy playing with a strange-looking creature from a distance reveals some awe of some sort. At first glance it almost looked like a fairytale of a mermaid out of the water until one looks closer. Also, from a distance one could think that it is a giant octopus.

But when one looks closer and grasps what the creature really is, it would send some shock waves down someone’s spine.  But man’s best friend is not only dog but other animals can indeed vy for such position.

On the Canary Islands in Spain, there’s a harbour in Vueltas, Valle Gran Rey frequently used by the local fishermen. These fishermen end up throwing some of their catch back into the water, and this has attracted other aquatic life who come over to feed. One of these hungry visitors includes a big ol’ stingray who ended up befriending a young boy named Joel. When it’s feeding time, Joel will come out to the water and splash his hands to call his buddy over.

Stingrays are typically not aggressive but they’ve earned their name by having a poisonous stinger which they use when they feel their lives are being threatened. These guys like to hang out in shallow waters so make sure you don’t step on them! You wouldn’t step on your friends, would you?

Anyway, if you try you wouldn’t live to tell the tale because their powerful sting can inject enough poison into your body to kill you at an instant. So, be nice to them or risk being killed by one of these creatures.

Former Governor Of Abia, Orji Uzor Kalu, Defects To APC (video) |The Republican News

By Ike A. Offor

The former governor of Abia State, Dr Orji Uzor Kalu, has formally defected to the ruling party APC.

Kalu recently lost his last hope to secure the senatorial seat in Abia North  Senatorial zone through protracted court case in the Appeal court , which he lost to his opponent Chief Ohuabunwa.

Kalu was received by national chairman of All Progressive Congress, Chief John-Odigie, who led the National Working Committee at the party National Secretariat today, Wednesday 16th November in welcoming him to the party.

Orji Uzor Kalu said he has succumbed to pressures from his friends and well wishers to contribute his quota to building the party in Nigeria especially in the South East.

In this video, he said: “the National Secretary of APC is my brother and we talk all the time and he has beckoned on me to join the party to contribute my quota to national development”.

He obviously bowed to the pressure from peers to join the party to help build it in South East and in the rest of the country.

Wole Soyinka Actually Said He Would Tear His Green Card And Leave The USA If Trump Wins (Video)|The Republican News

By Ike A. Offor

For those who were in doubt if the Noble Laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka, did actually said what the media claimed that he did about ripping his American green card up and leaving the shores of the United States, here is the proof for you all.

In this video which you are about to watch, the professor emeritus spoke clearly about his dislike of possible coming to power of Donald Trump and how such would be a disaster for United States and the world, due to USA’s  enormous power.

In his own voice, he made reference to the former president, Olusegun Obasanjo calling a press conference and ripping his political party membership card in the presence of the press men and women.

He said clearly that he would emulate that and call a press conference and rip his green card into shreds in the presence of the press and leave the shores of United States afterwards. He then said: “thank God that I am not a citizen of United States, I am only residing here and has only the green card”.

A green card is a permanent residence permit which allows the holder to reside indefinitely in United States, prior to being eligible to apply for citizenship of the United States of America.

This is now an albatross to the eminent professor emeritus on his reputation or integrity. Many have now expressed interest in seeing him carry out his threat in the public before the camera lenses of the press men and women. Many folks in the social media have cajoled him and called him names.

It appears that Donald Trump’s election victory has claimed some celebrity as casualties in Nigeria, chief among them is Prophet TB Joshua, who erroneously predicted the victory of Hilary Clinton. Another is our own renowned Professor emeritus, and Noble laureate winner, Wole Soyinka.

Rivers Election: Police Discover Fake Result Sheets Printing Shop, Arrest Suspects (VIDEO) |The Republican News

Chukwudi Akasike

Ahead of the December 10, 2016, legislative rerun election in Rivers State, the police in the state have arrested a syndicate involved in the printing of fake result sheets in Port Harcourt, the state capital.

Policemen from the state stormed a building located at No. 12, Isiokpo Street, D-Line, Port Harcourt, ostensibly on a tip-off.

It was gathered that the suspects were caught in the act when the security agents got to the place and a huge number of printed result sheets and sophisticated printing machines were recovered.

A police source said the operation was carried out at about 1pm after they were alerted to the act by a well-meaning Nigerian.

The security source told SUNDAY PUNCH that the suspects had been taken to the State Criminal Investigation Department of the state Police Command for further investigation.

“Yes, policemen were told about a place where fake result sheets were being printed and they swung into action immediately. They were there at about 1pm and they were able to arrest about four suspects,” he said.

However, the state Police Public Relations Officers, Mr. Nnamdi Omoni, said he was not aware of the matter.

Reacting to the development, the Rivers State Government in a statement signed by the Special Assistant to the governor on Electronic Media, Mr. Simeon Nwakandu, accused the All Progressives Congress in the state of being responsible for the act.

But the state Publicity Secretary of the APC, Mr. Chris Finebone, faulted the claim, adding that no member of the party was involved the act.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner for Information and Communication in the state, Dr. Austin Tam-George, has urged the Independent Electoral Commission to make the forthcoming rerun election free, fair and credible.

He also advised the APC to abandon what it described as politics of desperation and work with the state government to make the election credible. Punch.ng.com

Shocking Truth About African Corrupt Politics Exposed By Prof. Plo Lumumba (VIDEO) |The Republican News

By Ike A. Offor

He speaks with a very unique knack and candour of a professor and a critic. He is indeed  endowed with oratory endowment. He has become the new face of African renaissance and sociopolitical critic.

Some may have watched some of his videos where he has delivered speeches about Africa in his usual but unique thundering and captivating Queen’s English style spiced with African finesse.

Here, in this video, which is going viral on the social media, he brought to light the root cause of failure of African political leadership.

“In Africa, the shortest route to ill-gotten wealth is political leadership”, he said.  He further said “if you want to get wealth without working for it at all, join African politics.

And that is the truth in everywhere in Africa except in some very few places and he mentioned Tanzania as the exception due to the election of the incumbent President Mr John Jairo Pungo Magufuli.

This president has singlehandedly transformed how political leadership should be or look like in country and the echo is beginning to resonate around Africa. He has become an iconic leader in the present African leadership dispensation, when younger Africans are asking burning questions about failures of leadership in African and its concomitant effects on economic degradation in the continent.

African continent, though abundantly blessed with human, mineral resources, and wonderful climate and arable land mass and abundance of water, is still very poor and depends on aids from outside the continent.
