Despite War Songs, You Failed To Deliver Buhari In Rivers – Wike Mocks Amaechi

ByVictor Azubuike

The Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has declared that people of the state overwhelmingly voted for him during the 2019 governorship election because of his outstanding performance and project delivery.

In a response to an allegation made by the Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi during his appearance on Channels Television Sunrise Daily on Tuesday, Governor Wike said that the former Rivers State Governor failed in his quest to truncate his second term because Rivers people were happy with his work.

He said he wouldn’t have responded to the falsehood being peddled by the Minister of Transportation, but he oes the public the duty to set the record straight.

He said: “It is unfortunate. I extended the Olive Branch and I meant every word of it. It was on that basis that the State Attorney General filed a nolle prosequi to withdraw the charge against Flag Amachree.

“If I did not do well in my first term, PDP wouldn’t have given me the party’s flag to fly. In 2015, the same man vowed that over his dead body would I emerge victorious.

“I have done well for my people. It is for the people of Rivers State to decide. It is not the in the place of Amaechi to decide.

“We have over 6million people and over 3million registered voters. Therefore, Amaechi cannot say I cannot go for a second term. He has only one vote.

“In the past, he said an Ikwerre man cannot succeed another Ikwerre man. Today, he is saying his grouse is that I cannot go for a second term. At every step, he has one story or the other”.

Governor Wike said contrary to the story that Amaechi peddled whilst he was on Channels Television, kidnapping raged during his tenure. He said it was so bad that the State Chairman of Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission under Amaechi was kidnapped.

The Governor noted that despite the National High-Rate of insecurity, Rivers State is relatively peaceful, with very high ratings.

“Our internally Generated Revenue has improved due to the peace and security of the state”.

Governor Wike said that the political misfortune that befell the APC during the last general elections in Rivers State was principally due to the impunity of Amaechi .

He said: “It is because of this impunity that his party was not on the ballot. Because of this impunity he has denied so many people their political future “.

He said that the plots by Amaechi to manipulate the Tribunal will fail like other previous plots. The Governor noted that Amaechi’s boast that he appointed the members of the tribunal and they would work for him remains one of his empty boasts.

Governor Wike said that Amaechi’s plot to use the police to illegally certify fake results as he did for Rivers East Senatorial District during the rerun elections tribunal would fail.

“The game he played in Rivers East of using the police to certify fake results will not work. During the rerun Police certified fake results. That game will not work again. We have gone beyond that. We are waiting for the police to certify fake results for Amaechi “.

He stated that there was no way that the defeated AAC Governorship Candidate, Engr Awara would have been coasting to victory when he neither campaigned or printed posters.

He said: “Awara ran for the PDP councillorship in 2018 and lost. For this election, he did not Campaign and never printed posters.

“Look at that kind of impunity. He brought a man that the people of Rivers State never knew three days to the election.

“The AAC had no House of Assembly Candidates, they had no House of Representatives candidates and no senate candidates for the elections. There is no way that such a party would have been coasting to victory “.

He added that the AAC Governorship Candidate could not have been coasting to victory and still approach the Federal High Court for the cancellation of the Governorship Election Results.

On the allegation that the INEC Chairman , Professor Mahmood Yakubu influenced the suspension of the Collation process because he worked under him at the Federal Ministry of Education, the Rivers State Governor said that the position of Amaechi was baseless. He said that at the Ministry of Education, he superintended basic Education, while the INEC Chairman served as TETFUND Executive Secretary under the Minister of Education. He said that the INEC Chairman was appointed by the APC Federal Government and since his appointment, there has been no links

Governor Wike said despite the evil machinations of the Minister of Transportation, he was unable to deliver 25 percent of votes for President Muhammadu Buhari in 2015 and 2019

“In 2015, as a sitting Governor, he failed to deliver 25percent of votes for President Buhari. He claimed that Jonathan helped us. In 2019, with all the security agencies, he still couldn’t deliver 25percent for President Buhari.

“He sang war songs, but couldn’t deliver 25 percent of votes for the President “, he said.

On the incident at Obio/Akpor LGA Secretariat, Governor Wike said that the GOC of the 6 Division of the Nigerian Army, Major General Jamil Sarhem sent soldiers to invade the Collation Centre and cart away results .

“I went there to stop the Army from carting away results from my Local Government Area “, he said.

Governor Wike said that the illegal activities of the Nigerian Army all through the Governorship Election were well documented by the media and the International community.

He said that the videos of the Army invading the Rivers State Governorship Election Collation Centre has since gone viral.

He said that even the Rivers State Commander of F-SARs has since written him a congratulatory letter on his well deserved victory.

He said that his administration continues to fund all security agencies in the state, including providing needed logistics. He said that the Israelis that Amaechi introduced were only used to siphon State resources .

He wondered why Amaechi finds Pleasure in de-marketing Rivers State, when the State made him Speaker, Governor and Minister of the Federal Republic.

Governor Wike said after four years as a Minister, Amaechi cannot boast of attracting a single project to Rivers State. He noted that as Minister of State for Education, he attracted several projects to the state.

He denied attempting to bribe the GOC, saying that he has never met him at any point. He said by Amaechi’s logic, it means that the Minister bribed the GOC 6 Division to subvert the Electoral Process.  (Daily Post)

EXPOSED: Leaked Tapes: ‘Nigerians Are Hungry, Crying, Poverty Growing |RN

Amaechi: I’m not aware of any recording

Though the veracity of the tapes is still not clear, Amaechi was heard in the recording saying the Buhari administration has brought misery to Nigerians.

Aidoghie Paulinus and Ndubuisi Orji, Abuja, (with agency report)

Controversy has continued to trail leaked audio tapes exposing where Transportation Minister, Chibuike Amaechi, allegedly lamented the situation in the country under President Muhammadu Buhari.

Although the veracity of the tapes is still not clear, Amaechi was heard, in the audio recording, figuratively saying the Buhari administration has brought only misery, poverty and hunger to Nigerians.

In the audio recording, shared with PREMIUM TIMES, by spokesperson for the Atiku Abubakar Campaign, Phrank Shaibu, Amaechi, who is director general of Buhari’s Presidential Campaign Organisation, said in the three years Buhari has been in power, Nigerians are lamenting.

He said in the audio recording: “These are not things you publish ooo. If you publish them, you will never sit with me any day.

“Three years of Buhari oo, everybody is crying, crying…pressmen are crying, farmers are crying, workers are crying, politicians are crying, students are crying, three years oo!

“The rate of poverty is very high. The people are hungry. Nigeria will divide!”

The audio recording presented Amaechi as describing the president as a leader who neither listens nor cares about what is written about him, as the voice said: “The president does not listen to anybody. He doesn’t care. You can write what you want to write. The president doesn’t care. Does he read? He will read, he will laugh. He will say ‘come, come and see, they are abusing me here’. In fact, there was one case of somebody in Onitsha, a trader in Onitsha who couldn’t sell his goats during Sallah; and, I was with Oga on the plane and the man was busy abusing Buhari. He said, ‘Amaechi, come, what is my business with Onitsha goat seller?’”

Reacting to the audio recording, Amaechi dismissed it, saying he was not aware of such audio now being played on several internet platforms.

He vehemently denied knowledge of any audio recording to Daily Sun, yesterday evening.

“I am not aware of any audio recording.”

Further told that the audio is gaining momentum on different online websites, the immediate past governor of Rivers State said: “Do I do website?”

Meanwhile, the PDP has said that Amaechi has a huge responsibility to defend himself on the alleged audio tape.

PDP National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, told reporters in Abuja, yesterday, that if the president believes the alleged tape is normal, it is not the business of the opposition party.

“What is out in the public domain is just a demonstration to Nigerians about the lies, deceptions, contrivances and beguilement that APC deployed to win the 2015 election.

“It shows that they have no plans, no agenda, no vision in whatever form as far as governance is concerned for Nigerians…”    (The Sun)

Focus On Governance And Quit Blaming Jonathan – Amaechi |The Republican News

amaechirotimi1

Minister of Transport, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi

The Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi, has admonished his colleagues in the Muhammadu Buhari administration to stop blaming former President Goodluck Jonathan.

Mr. Amaechi said it is time for administration officials to concentrate on delivering good policies to the citizens rather than dragging the former president for Nigeria’s woes.

“I agree with those who said we should stop criticising the last government and that we should do our own,” The Nation newspaper quoted Mr. Amaechi as saying during a meeting at his office Tuesday.

The minister decried Nigeria’s infrastructure deficit, drawing a comparison with other relatively new countries like Singapore.

“We need to leverage on what we know. People are shouting intermodal transport; I went to the new airport in Singapore and I didn’t find one person at the airport.

“As you walk in, technology takes over,” Mr. Amaechi said.

He called for an urgent renaissance in Nigeria’s infrastructure, especially in the area of information and communications technology.

“They also said in the next few years, they would introduce driverless cars. We should also think outside the box about how to improve our transport sector and think less about how sun and moon affect the sector or building more bus stops.

“We should see how much investment we can put in the area of ICT. Intelligence transportation should not be ignored,” he added.

If heeded, Mr. Amaechi’s call would mark a shift in Buhari administration’s approach to public engagement.

Since assuming office in 2015, President Buhari has led his appointees and party members to blame Mr. Jonathan for failing to properly direct the country’s affairs during his tenure.

Allegations such as senseless looting of public funds, nepotism, economic mismanagement and gross abuse of power are regularly directed at Mr. Jonathan.

In June, Mr. Amaechi slammed Mr. Jonathan for allegedly failing the Igbo during his years, saying the former president left the region in a state of disrepair.

“President Jonathan went to Onitsha and danced and promised to construct Onitsha bridge. Right? After that nothing happened,” Mr. Amaechi said at a social media forum in Lagos on June 13.

Bolaji Abdullahi, a spokesperson for the APC, told PREMIUM TIMES the call was appropriate.

“Enough of blaming the previous administration, Nigerians want us to focus,” the spokesperson said.

Mr. Abdullahi said the wrongdoings of Mr. Jonathan’s government would remain in the memories of Nigerians, but that the current administration was not voted to amplify them.

“Yes, there were problems created by the previous administration, but Nigerians didn’t vote for us because they want us to be telling them who’s responsible. They want us to be solving problems,” he said.  (NewTelegraphNewspaper)

Showdown In Port Harcourt As Amaechi’s Security Aides Attack Wike’s Convoy |RN

Amaechi-and-Wike-Clash

Scene ofthe clash between Amaechi security aides and Wike’s security convoy

  • Gov’s escort rider knocked down, policemen in pilot car attacked

…Wike’s men were the aggressors –Minister’s media office

From Tony John, Port Harcourt

There was an showdown yesterday in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, between Governor Nyesom Wike and the Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, with both men accusing each other of attempted assassination, as their security details clashed.

A statement from the Government House, Port Harcourt, which gave an account of the incident said that Governor Wike escaped assassination when the Federal Special Anti-robbery Squad (F-SARS) and soldiers in the motorcade of the minister, who was in Port Harcourt, attacked his convoy.

Special Assistant to the Rivers State Governor, Electronic Media, Simeon Nwakaudu who signed the statement  said the governor was on project inspection when the incident occurred at Nwanja junction on Trans-Amadi Road, Port Harcourt, adding that Wike was not harmed despite the attack.

Nwakaudu explained that F-SARS personnel and soldiers in the minister’s convoy knocked down the governor’s escort rider and attacked the policemen in the pilot car.

According to Nwakaudu, the minister’s Aide-De-Camp, simply identified as Debewari, allegedly supervised the attack, which included damage of cameras held by journalists.

He also alleged that the Commander of Rivers SARS, Mr. Akin Fakorede, who received the Minister of Transportation at the Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa, also witnessed the incident.

The governor’s  aide said that after the attack, Wike continued with his inspection of projects.

A reaction from Amaechi’s media office, however, alleged that the minister narrowly escaped being shot by security men attached to Wike, but ended up vandalising his car instead.

The statement reads: “In a blatant show of naked raw power, minister of Transportation, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, this afternoon (yesterday) narrowly escaped being shot by security men attached to the governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike.  His car wasn’t that lucky though. The car was vandalised with a broken side mirror.

“The incident occurred in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, along Trans-Amadi road, Nwanja axis. The minister had arrived Port Harcourt this afternoon (yesterday).

“Accompanied by cars of many of his supporters, the minister’s black jeep was intercepted and blocked at the junction by the security motorcycle outrider attached to Wike after two cars had passed through. One of the two cars had security men assigned to protect the minister in Port Harcourt.  Suddenly, gun-totting security men attached to Wike’s convoy, surrounded the minister’s car, threatening to shoot him. They hit the car, tried to smash the windscreens, back and side windows and broke a side mirror. All through this attack, Amaechi remained calm, inside the fortified jeep.  While the attack occurred, Wike remained inside his vehicle.

Amaechi-Wike

Gov. Nyesom Wike and Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi

“The minister eventually passed through after the intervention of the security team on ground to protect him in Port Harcourt. However, when Governor Wike got to the point where the incident occurred after Amaechi’s vehicle had gone by, his security men blocked the road again, dragged out from a vehicle and thoroughly beat up a policeman attached to protect Amaechi in Port Harcourt.  The policeman’s rifle was also taken from him.

“Wike came out of his car, and with his security team, was going from one vehicle to another of Amaechi supporters, charging at them, harassing and abusing them. Wike’s security men were heard loudly insulting Amaechi and called him all sorts of derogative names.

“This is a crass show of high handedness, arbitrary behaviour and abuse of public office by a state governor who has no care for the safety of Rivers people.”   (The Sun)

Senate Suspends Approval Of $5.8bn Loan For Exclusion Of SE From National Rail Project

senate

Nigerian senate

…Over exclusion of South East, North East in rail project

• Summons transport minister, Amaechi

From FRED ITUA, Abuja

The $5.851billion China Exim Bank loan request submitted to the Senate on April 26, 2017, may be stalled, following protests by South East senators, over the alleged exclusion of their zone from the nationwide railway modernisation project.

According to a motion tagged, “Outright Omission of Eastern Corridor Rail Line in the request for approval of Federal Government 2016-2015 External Borrowing (Rolling Plan)”, sponsored by Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe and other members of the South-East Caucus, the exclusion was “inexplicable.”

President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, assured the protesting lawmakers that the leadership of the Senate had already taken a position on the non-inclusion of some parts of the country in the project.

He said the Senate Committee on Local and Foreign Debts, headed by Shehu Sani, were already working on the loan request.

He added that if the interest of every section of the country was not accommodated, the Senate would insist on an “all inclusive project.

“We must give information at the leadership level and we are taking up this matter with the Executive. That was what led to the amendment of the letter that came from the President. The first letter did not specify that of the South-East and North-East axis must also be standard gauge.

“We insisted at the leadership level that every part of the country must benefit and that there must be a standard gauge and that has been done.”

Deputy President of the Senate, Ike Ekweremadu, said any injustice done to any part of the country, should be frowned at by the Senate.

He said the Federal Government was rehabilitating rail lines throughout the country, but excluded the South-East geopolitical zone.

He claimed that railway projects already awarded by the Federal Government was deliberately abandoned, through non-release of funds to contractors.

He maintained that promises made by government that the region would be accommodated in future projects were doubtful, saying that no section of the country should be excluded in projects.

Gbenga Ashafa, chairman, Senate Committee on Land Transport, countered the South-East senators, arguing that government was a continuum and that the region would be accommodated in future projects.

Abaribe, had while moving the motion, noted: “On April 26, 2017, the Federal Government laid before the National Assembly a request seeking an approval for a loan of $5,851billion from China Exim Bank to execute the modernization of Lagos-Kano, Kano-Kaduna, Lagos-Ibadan and Lagos-Calabar rail segment.

“The Senate observes with dismay that the above sections of the rail line that the loan was being sought for covers only a section of the country i.e. the western corridor or sections.

“The Eastern section of the rail segment, which has a link between the South Eastern to North Eastern parts of the rail line is completely excluded from the request.

“The loan being a Federal Government borrowing would be paid for by all sections of the country. Therefore, every section of the country should be taken into consideration.”

Abaribe urged the Senate to suspend consideration of the loan request until the correction of the apparent oversight of the eastern parts of the country was effected.

Upon the Senate President’s explanation, Abaribe withdrew the prayers. Instead, the Senate resolved to summon the Minister of Transport, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, to appear and explain the reasons for the exclusion of the Eastern Corridor of Nigeria’s Rail Lines from the proposed loan from China Exim bank.   (The Sun)

Ikoyi N13bn: Amaechi Seeks N2bn From Fani-Kayode, Fayose’s Aide

rotimi-amaechi

Minister of Transportation, Mr Rotimi Amaechi

Olusola Fabiyi, Chukwudi Akasike, Eniola Akinkuotu and Ade Adesomoju

Minister of Transportation, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, has written to a former Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, and an aide to Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State, Mr. Lere Olayinka, citing character defamation over the allegation that he (the minister) owns the $43m (about N13bn) seized by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission in Ikoyi, Lagos.

Amaechi, in letters dated April 14, 2017, written on his behalf by his lawyer, Mr. Lateef Fagbemi (SAN), to the two men, said his client had been defamed by the claims of the two men.

Fagbemi is demanding N500m from Fani-Kayode as compensation for the alleged malicious posts by the former minister on his twitter handle on April 14.

He is also demanding two separate sums of N750m totalling N1.5bn from Olayinka as compensation for the alleged “malicious” posts by the Ekiti State Governor’s spokesperson on his facebook timeline and twitter handle on April 14.

In his letter to Fani-Kayode, Fagbemi said it was wrong for the former minister to assume that Amaechi owned the flat and the money found in it.

Fagbemi said as a lawyer, Fani-Kayode knew that he ought to approach the Land Registry, especially in Lagos State, where he said there were proper records of property owners, in order to verify the ownership of the property in question.

He said the former deliberately refused to carry out a diligent search in order to achieve a malicious aim.

Fagbemi said Fani-Kayode had claimed through his twitter handle that “The $43m is Rotimi Amaechi’s. He owns the flat (where) it was found in too (sic.). NIA story is fake news. NIA does not keep cash in minister’s flats.”

He said the story was a lie and that it was aimed at impeaching the integrity of his client, who he described as a two-term speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly and a two-term governor of the same state.

Fagbemi said Amaechi neither owned the flat where the money was found nor owned the cash as well.

The letter reads in part, “Our client neither owns the cash nor the house where the cash was found and your story and claim are unfounded. As a matter of fact, our client does not own any house in Lagos State not to talk of keeping cash in one and your story is preposterous.

“Your twitter rant of 14/04/2014 at 04.16 was viewed by your 316. 000 followers, re-tweeted 1,209 times and made a favourite by 434 followers as of the time of writing this letter today at 7.15pm and the list is increasing by the minute and same has satisfied all the conditions needed for a successful defamation case against you.

“We have our client’s mandate to state to you unequivocally that the said twitter publication constitutes libel, and is defamatory of him as same (the claim) is aimed at impugning our client’s character and credit in the eyes of right thinking Nigerians and foreigners.”

In view of this, he gave Fani-Kayode a seven-day ultimatum to tender apology to the minister and that such apology be carried by five national dailies.

Fagbemi added that Fani-Kayode should pay his client N500m damages as “compensation for the malicious and defamatory claim.”

He threatened to sue the minister if the demands were not met within seven days.

The lawyer in two separate letters, each relating separately to facebook and twitter posts by Olayinka, demanded the sums of N750m as compensation for each of the posts.

Fagbemi quoted Olayinka as stating in the posts, “The Osborne Towers, a luxury residential complex in lkoyi, Lagos where EFCC said it found $43,449,947, £27,800 and N23,218,000 on Wednesday is owned by the Minister of Transportation. Rotimi Amaechi.

“The house was built by Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu, the former Chairman of PDP through a loan from GTBank.

“He could not repay the loan so GTB took over the house and allocated the Pent House to Mu’azu and two flats

“Rotimi Amaechi bought TWO of the flats (7A and 7B). He then gave 7A to Mo Abudu, the TV presenter, who is suspected to be his girlfriend.

But the flat 7B, where the money was found, belong (sic) to Rotimi Amaechi.

“This is believed to be cash kept for 2019 elections.

“Let’s see how the cover up game goes.”

He also accused Olayinka of falsely making adulterous imputation against his client, who he stated “contracted a valid statutory marriage within the Marriage Act, which prescribes a ‘one-man one-wife’ union.”

The letter relating to the twitter post read in part, “Your twitter post of 14/04/2014 as at 07pm today was viewed by not less than 12,000 followers, retweeted 38 times and made a favourite by nine followers as of the time of writing this letter.

“Please note that the list is increasing by the minute and same has satisfied all the conditions needed for a successful defamation case against you. May we state at this juncture that our client contracted a valid statutory marriage within the Marriage Act, which prescribes a ‘one man-one wife’ union.

“Your baseless assertion that our client bought a flat for one Mo Abudu, whom you also claim to be his girlfriend, raises the assertion that our client is adulterous and is unfaithful to his marital vows.

“We have our client’s mandate to state to you unequivocally that the said twitter publication constitutes libel, and is defamatory of him as same (the claim) is aimed at impugning our client‘s character and credit in the eyes of right thinking Nigerians and foreigners.

“In the light of the foregoing, and in the spirit of a second chance, we have our client’s instructions to give you an ultimatum of seven days from the receipt of this letter to issue an apology in five national dailies and on your twitter handle.

“Your apology, which should be heartfelt, must be a total withdrawal of your claim and its imputations must also contain an expression of deep regret for this unwarranted attack and must also contain a complete retraction of the false statement of yours.

“We also demand from you a sum of N750,000,000.00 (Seven hundred and Fifty Million Naira) as compensation for the malicious and defamatory claim.

“Please note that the demand will increase with time if you fail to retract the statement and publication immediately.

“Failure to do any of these would be met with stiff legal actions which your defamatory act deserves. A stitch in time saves nine!”

He reproduced the same content, making similar demands of apology and N750m compensation in the second letter in which he stated that Olayinka’s “Facebook post of April 13, 2017 was viewed by your over 5,000 friends with 47 friends liking it, 84 people commenting on it and 43 people sharing it as at the time of writing this letter.”

In his response, however, Fani-Kayode said he had not received any court letters from Amaechi.

In a statement by his media aide, Jude Ndukwe, the ex-minister said, “We have been inundated with calls concerning a threat by Rotimi Amaechi to sue Chief Fani-Kayode for defamation over the $43m issue.

“We are not losing any sleep over this matter. We have not received any court processes or letters from Amaechi but when we do so, our lawyers will respond vigorously and appropriately.”       (Punchng.com)

Ikoyi N43.4m: EFCC Unaware Money, Flat Belong To Amaechi, Used NIA To Cover Up For Him

By Chibiko Ikenna Offor

The Economic and Financial Crime Commission EFCC did not know that the luxury apartment located in the Osborne Tower belonged to Rotimi Amaechi until after the raid and making the news public. What it did next was a shocking stunt by a body like EFCC that portray itself as an anti-corruption agency.

The  Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC, discovered a shocking sum of  cash money in a  luxury residential complex in Ikoyi, Lagos.
Facts have emerged to ascertain the true owner of the said luxury apartment in Ikoyi, Lagos. The Osborne Towers, a luxury residential complex in Ikoyi, Lagos where EFCC said it found $43,449,947, £27,800 and N23, 218,000 on Wednesday is owned by the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi.
IkoyiEFCCcash2
The EFCC was completely unaware of the owner of the targeted address for their intrusive search, so did not do much research to ascertain that it belonged to Hon. Rotimi Amaechi.
Though with resources at their disposal, they were unable proper investigation before the successful search, that will now open can of worms for the federal government.
The house was built by Alhaji Adamu Muazu, the former Chairman of PDP
through a loan from GTBank. Alhaji Muazu was unable to service the said loan so, GT bank repossessed the entire building but gave him the pent house and two flats.
Rotimi Amaechi bought TWO of the flats (7A and 7B). He reportedly gave 7A to Mo Abudu, the TV presenter, who is suspected to be his girlfriend.
The said massive stash of mostly dollar currency was found in flat 7B belongs to Rotimi Amaechi.
A very reliable source categorically told The Republican News that the money belongs to Rotimi Amaechi. So, when EFCC found out that they have created a new problem which could create unforeseen circumstances for both EFCC, FG and especially for president Muhammadu Buhari, it had to find ways to correct the blunder. The EFCC contacted the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) to do covert operation for them and rescue them from the mess. National Intelligence Agency did confirm that it has been on several contacts with EFCC over the discovered massive stash of cash.
Last night, National Intelligence Agency (NIA) came out to make suspicious claim that money belongs to it. But the claim raises few questions, which need answers. Some of the question are, how could such safe house owned by NIA not earmarked for FG authorities to be aware of its existence?
Another question, which raises suspicion about the quality of service delivery by EFCC is how could they also not know the actual owner of the house and contact such person before heading for a search? It appears all EFCC needs to know is an information from a whistleblower and their officers march to the target and search everywhere.
Further, who is the whistleblower that had access to this flat and had information about such mass stash of cash in the apartment? If this appartment is a safe house to NIA and it is a top-secret, who was the whistleblower who is aware of its existence and what is in it?
EFCC should have solved this problem if they had tried to ascertain the owner of the apartment before heading to the said address to search. But now that the cat has been let out of the bag, they scrambled for ways to cover it up. It remains to be seen how far this coverup is going to go before more facts make it to the public domain.
Meanwhile the Federal High Court in Lagos has ordered the temporary forfeiture of the sums of $43,449,947, £27,800 and N23,218,000 recovered by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission from an apartment in the Ikoyi area of Lagos on Wednesday.

The court, in a ruling on Thursday afternoon by Justice Muslim Hassan, ordered that the funds be temporarily forfeited to the Federal Government.

The judge adjourned till May 5, 2017, for owner of the funds to show up before him to show cause why the money should not be permanently forfeited to the Federal Government.

So, it is now clear that the National Intelligence Agency will be used to retrieve the money and hand it over to Rotimi Amaechi. This is going to cause a serious embarrassment for  the Federal Government and for president Muhammadu Buhari.

Another sources from EFCC have revealed to the former minister of Aviation, Mr Femi Fani-Kayode, that the said recovered money and flat belong to the Minister Of Transport, Hon. Rotimi Amaechi.

So, this could  be a messy stunts for the FG, Amaechi and National Intelligence Agency and Muhammadu Buhari.

Nigerians are going to watch keenly to see how this ends
