Paul Kagame Closes 6000 Churches, Mosques In Rwanda |The Republican News

Rwanda’s government has closed thousands of churches and dozens of mosques as it seeks to assert more control over a vibrant religious community whose sometimes makeshift operations, authorities say, have threatened the lives of followers.

President Paul Kagame has said he was shocked by the high number of churches in this small East African country. “700 churches in Kigali?” he said of houses of worship in the nation’s capital in March. “Are these boreholes (deep wells) that give people water? I don’t think we have as many boreholes. Do we even have as many factories? This has been a mess!”

Kagame said Rwanda doesn’t need so many houses of worship, claiming that such a high number is only fit for bigger, more developed economies that have the means to sustain them.

The closings are bringing mixed reactions in Rwanda, where human rights groups have long accused Kagame’s government of clamping down on freedom of expression, which the president has denied. Six Pentecostal pastors who protested the church closures were arrested and accused of “illegal meetings with bad intentions,” and since then other critics have refused to discuss the issue with The Associated Press.

While Rwanda’s government describes the closures as tackling churches that have failed to comply with building safety standards, it is taking other steps to oversee the religious community in the largely Christian nation of 12 million people.

Proposed legislation aims to regulate faith-based organisations separately from civil society organizations, said Alexis Nkurunziza, president of the private Rwanda Religious Leaders Forum. Suggestions from religious leaders soon will be forwarded to the Rwanda Law Reform Commission for scrutiny and later to parliament, he said. The legislation is expected to be passed as the ruling party holds a majority of parliamentary seats.

The new legislation would require pastors to have a theology degree before they start their own churches so that they teach correct doctrine, said those familiar with the discussions. The aim is to regulate the Pentecostal churches that often spring up under leaders who claim to have received a call to preach. Not everyone, however, has the money to such a degree, some observers have said.

The majority of churches that have been closed are said to be small Pentecostal prayer houses, with some preachers suspected of growing rich off often impoverished followers. Some churches meet in tents or houses that cannot accommodate crowds and noise pollution from nighttime gatherings is a concern, authorities said.

“The prayer houses were found in such poor physical conditions, and we are not targeting any religion,” Anastase Shyaka, the head of the Rwanda Governance Board that regulates faith-based organizations, told the AP. “We are closing prayer houses of all different denominations and asking them to meet existing health and safety standards for their followers.”

Local media in the capital have reported that over 6 000 churches have been closed so far across the country, but Shaka said the actual number was still being compiled.            (Times Africa)

The Herdsmen Are Not Fulani: They Are From The Moon – Femi Fani-Kayode |RN

“Labelling the attackers as Fulani is wrong. Fulani people are peaceful and live in harmony with other ethnicities. To call the killer herdsmen Fulani is a misnomer. They are just criminals and not Fulani criminals”- Vice President Atiku Abubakar, 11 March 2018, Thisday Newspaper.

Is it so difficult for us to accept the ugly truth and to call a spade a spade? Must we continue to mock the memories of those that have been slaughtered by shielding those who butchered them? Have we no shame or remorse? Are this childish semantics and infantile denials really necessary?

I have immense respect and affection for Vice President Atiku Abubakar and it stretches back for many years but this assertion shocks and surprises me. It is most unlike him to speak in this way. And I happen to know that he is far bigger and better than this.

There are however some ugly realities that we have to accept and live within this country and this is one of them. Living in denial cannot solve the problem: it can only aggravate it and make it worse.

It is bad enough that hardly any Fulani leaders have come out to publicly condemn the activities of their herdsmen but to condemn the horrendous acts and then attempt to shield the racial identity of those behind it by saying that they are not Fulani is even worse.

Permit me to expand on this. Saying that the Fulani terrorists are not Fulani is rather like saying that Adolf Hitler’s Nazis, who gassed 6 million Jews to death in concentration camps during World War 1, were not German. It is like saying that Abubakar Shekau and his Boko Haram footsoldiers, who have slaughtered thousands of our people over the last few years, are not Muslims and are not Nigerians.

It is like saying that the white Boers who owned and ran apartheid-South Africa, who slaughtered the black African population and who regarded them as nothing more than animals that were only fit for breeding and slave labour, were not Caucasians and did not originally come from Holland in western Europe.

Such assertions fly in the face of logic, have no basis in veracity, are manifestly irrational and are deeply insulting. Not only are they deeply flawed but, worst of all, they are designed to conceal the truth and obstruct any future attempt to bring the perpetrators to justice.

And if Atiku Abubakar or anyone else insists on saying that the killer herdsmen are not Fulani then perhaps they could tell us exactly what they are, who they are and where they come from?

Are they from Mars? Are they from Pluto? Are they from the moon? Or are they from the dark and sinister Vulture Mountain and the infamous “land of the bitter waters” in Futa Jalon, Guniea?

Last year Governor Nasir El Rufai told the world that they are non-Nigerian Fulanis and that they were from Niger, Mali, Chad and other such places.

Atiku has now gone a step further by saying that they are not Fulani at all, whether local or foreign! This consistent and constant denial from Fulani leaders has to stop. They must accept the fact that some of their people are naturally murderous and they must do something about it.

We must not shy away from challenging anyone who attempts to becloud this issue or mislead the Nigerian people.

It does not matter if we happen to be in the same political party or in different ones. If anyone, no matter how highly placed or respected, crosses the line or indulges in any shape or form of mendacity and deception in this matter, we must and will call that person out.

That is what leadership is all about. And this is all the more important because the situation appears to be getting worse and, if we are not careful, it may escalate into a full scale religious and tribal war that would cause Nigeria to cease to exist.

Consider the words of Mr Magnus Oraka who is from Jos and whose community was attacked just a few days ago.

He posted a moving and emotional video from his hometown on Facebook yesterday in which he spoke with courage and passion. He said,

“This Fulani attack and killing is a war against Nigeria and war against Christians. It is not APC vs PDP, it is Muslim vs Christian. We don’t have weapons to defend ourselves, all we have are sticks. God Punish Buhari, God punish those of you that voted for Buhari, God punishes those that are still supporting Buhari. Look at my face! I am in Jos: come and meet me!”

To buttress his point about the religious dimension of the conflict, according to the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) many Churches have been burnt down by Fulani herdsmen all over the country in the last three years. 60 of them were burnt down in Benue state in the last few weeks whilst over 1000 have been burnt down in Southern Kaduna alone in the last three years!

If this were simply a conflict over land rights and a struggle between tribes and ethnic nationalities why on earth are Churches being targetted by the Fulani as well?

Whichever way you look at it, clearly the victims and members of the indigenous communities that are under siege are getting fed up. Their backs are up against the wall and they are eager to defend themselves and hit back.

And given what they have been subjected to over the years and particularly since Buhari came to power three years ago, who can blame them?

Most importantly they are under no illusion and have no doubt about who the aggressors, attackers and perpetrators are and where they come from.

The truth is that not only are these barbarians and genocidal maniacs that take delight in indulging in mass murders Fulani but they are also NIGERIAN Fulanis.

They are inspired, led, guided, funded, supported and protected by Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore and the Miyetti Allah Cattle Herders Association which are both organisations that are made up of Fulanis and that are headed by the Fulani Sultan of Sokoto and the Fulani Emir of Kano.

The Chairman of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, one Abdullahi Bello Bodejo, is Fulani as well just as are all the leaders of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association like one Garus Gololo. Finally, their Life Patron is another Fulani by the name of President Muhammadu Buhari.

At one time or the other every single one of these individuals together with many other Fulani leaders such as the spokesman of the Arewa Consultative Forum, the notorious and rabidly pro-northern Fulani supremacist, Professor Ango Abdullahi, have tried to defend, justify and rationalise the outrageous and barbaric behaviour of their members and Fulani kinsmen.

They have said that the killings were inescapable, unpreventable and justified and that the Fulani herdsmen had every right to attack and slaughter innocent and defenceless people, including women and children, simply because those people were obstructing the free movement of Fulani cattle from one part of the country to another.

They also accused them of preventing the Fulani cows from eating their crops and of building houses on some fictitious and non-existent cattle routes which they claim that our erstwhile British colonial masters had allegedly granted them as far back as 1904!

Miyetti Allah itself went further by alluding to the fact that they were pleased with Buhari’s luke-warm and indifferent attitude to the whole matter and indeed the way that he has run the country over the last three years and that if he was not re-elected as President in 2019 they would “burn Nigeria to the ground”.

Knowing all this, for someone to now say that the killers are not Fulani is clearly an attempt to mislead the public and to befuddle the issues.

The Fulani leaders MUST accept that they own this problem and they must take full responsibility for the brutality, savagery and unacceptable behaviour of their people.

We must stop the deceit. There is no room for political correctness here or attempting to sweep the truth under the carpet. I say this because dozens of innocent people are being killed every day.

Furthermore, it is disingenuous and unfair to expect us not to call the terrorists who and what they really are: Fulani terrorists. We call them that because they are committing crimes against humanity and because they are members of the Fulani race.

If any Fulani leader is uncomfortable with that and does not want us to call them what they are then they are best advised to counsel and control their Fulani brothers and tell them to stop behaving like animals and killing our people.

Only a Fulani man will say that it is wrong or that it is a misnomer to call a killer Fulani herdsman and a Fulani terrorist what he is.

Such a man that is not ready to call a spade a spade cannot be taken seriously.

Let us make no mistake about it: today’s struggle is not just about party politics or getting Buhari out of power in 2019.

The struggle is far bigger than that and it is essentially about securing our liberation. We are fighting to be free and to win our liberation from the hegemony, tyranny, cruelty and barbarity of the Fulani who have slaughtered our people like flies over the last three years and who insist on ruling our nation in perpetuity and turning us all into little more than paupers, beggars and slaves.

If that makes some uncomfortable it is simply too bad and it changes nothing. The truth is that it is time for us to call a spade a spade and to stop pampering the enemy or massaging his ego.

If the Fulani want to be treated with decorum, respect and affection and if any Fulani man ever wishes to have a hope in hell of being elected President of our country ever again, the genocide and ethnic cleansing that they unleash on our people on a daily basis must stop. Anything short of that is unacceptable.

Permit me to share the words of Mr Samson Tannon Tongman who said the following:

“The agenda is bigger than Atiku. It is jihad, land grab and Islamization. All northerners must fall in line, including Atiku”.

This is an insightful and deeply profound observation. It also provides a veritable explanation for the doublespeak that virtually every single northern Muslim leader, including a liberal and otherwise benign and reasonable one like Atiku, indulges in when it comes to the nefarious and unspeakable atrocities of the Fulani herdsmen and terrorists.

It appears that Mr Opeyemi Oluyade was right when he said,

“this is the time for liberation politics, not party politics: liberation from the Fulani”.

Permit me to conclude this contribution with the words of embattled Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue state whose people have been subjected to nothing less than genocide and have suffered immeasurably at the hands of the Fulani terrorists in the last three years. A few days ago he hosted President Buhari in his state and said,

“On 30th May 2017, the Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore in a ‘World Press Conference’ held in Abuja, opposed the Ranching Law. They called on Fulani herders in all of West Africa to come into Benue to help them reclaim their land. In the same vein, Miyetti Allah Cattle Herders Association in their Press Conference declared that more blood will flow in Benue if the Ranching Law is not rescinded. Your Excellency, as a President that supports the Rule of Law, you will most certainly be offended by these hate speeches that may have crossed the red line. Your Excellency, how can a group claim responsibility for the killings that happened and are going about scot free? How can a group make public these inciting and criminal declarations in an organized society and are not arrested by the Police? Your Excellency, kindly orders the immediate arrest and prosecution of the leadership of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore and Miyetti Cattle Breeders Association for carrying out their threats to attack Benue on account of the Open Grazing Prohibition and Ranches Establishment Law, 2017”.

This is wise and courageous counsel from Ortom and it is long overdue. I agree with him that the leaders of Miyetti Allah should be arrested but I would go a step further by suggesting that the organisation should also be proscribed and declared as a terrorist organisation.

From the foregoing, it appears that not everyone has been fooled or persuaded by the misleading assertion and perfidious narrative that those that are carrying out the killings are not Fulani.

Governor Ortom knows that they are Fulani just as does every other discerning and sensible Nigerian.

Furthermore by stating their intention to spill even more blood and kill every soul in Benue state and elsewhere simply because of the passing of the Anti-Grazing Bill, Miyetti Allah has not only confessed to their heinous crimes against humanity but they have also relished them, boasted about them and have made it abundantly clear that they intend to kill many more innocent people, including women and children.

What more evidence do we need to prove that these terrorists and mass murderers are indeed Fulani and that they have no intention of stopping the carnage until the people of southern and Middle Belt Nigeria are either completely wiped out and ethnically cleansed off the face of the earth or are ready to submit to them, give them all their land, give them all their farms and bow to their cows?

Those that are eager to mislead the world, becloud the issues, brush the filth under the carpet and cover the tracks of these bloodthirsty beasts should answer that question.

Permit me to conclude this contribution with the following.

Every day since the beginning of this year Fulani terrorists have killed people in one part of Nigeria or the other and the number of those murdered over the last three years has entered into the thousands.

On Thursday 15th March 2018, 35 innocent people, including women and children, were slaughtered in Kogi state as well.

The state has not passed an Anti-Grazing Law, its people have not blocked any cow-grazing routes and it’s Governor, a young Igbira businessman by the name of Yahaya Bello, is a bumbling slave of the Fulani and a self-deprecating acolyte of Buhari who donated 15,000 hectares of state land to the herdsmen for the establishment of the infamous cattle ranches.

For those who say that the reason that the Fulani terrorists butcher innocent people is because of the Anti-Grazing Law, blocked grazing routes, hostility to them from the local indigenous population, hatred for Buhari or the refusal to establish cattle ranches, how do you explain this?

The truth is that there is no reason for their sociopathic and genocidal behaviour other than the fact that they are murderous by nature and they wish to wipe out entire indigenous populations all over Nigeria in order to take their land, steal their mineral resources, rape their women, conquer their souls, enslave their people and break their spirit.

It is their legendary brutality that qualified them to be the slave raiders for the Europeans and the Arabs during the days of the slave trade.

No-one, not even the cowards and quislings amongst us like Yahaya Bello that sell their souls and trade their birthright to them, that role out the red carpet to receive them and that bow and tremble before them are safe or exempt from their sociopathic barbarity and their psychopathic savagery.

That is a bitter lesson that many in our country still have to learn.

You cannot appease a ravenous and insatiable snake and you cannot befriend a wild and hungry beast.

Nigerian Pastors Are Cherry Pickers, Says Daddy Freeze |The Republican News

By Correspondents

It’s certain that the controversial On-Air-Personality and Leader of the Free Nation in-Christ Online Church, Cool FM’s Daddy Freeze, is not yet done with Nigeria’s Pentecostal pastors. In this no-holds-barred interview, Freeze wants the ‘men of God’ to come out clear and confess all the lies they had told their congregations just to get money out of them, in addition to Bishop Mike Okonkwo’s recent confession. Tai Anyanwu reports

You really don’t need any introduction; but all the same, tell us something about yourself for those who might not know you

My name is Ifedayo Olarinde. I am a radio presenter, a sociologist by training and the convener of Free The Sheeple Movement and Leader of Free Nation in Christ Online Church.

Interesting; what is your movement out to achieve

I wouldn’t say it is out to achieve because we set out what we wanted to do in mind which is to correct the false doctrines that have been propagated under the name of Christianity. These doctrines have been enslaving, they have been painful, they have been manipulating and they have left us poorer and dormant. So, it is high time somebody stood up, corrected and helped people unlearn the lies; and relearn the truth. That is what we stand for.

Tell us about your growing up and what probably informed why you are who you are today?

I was born in Romania in Europe. In fact, I came to Nigeria when I was three years old; had my primary, secondary and university education here.

Today, you are a celebrated broadcaster. Tell us about your life and challenges as an On-Air Personality.

Hmmm…if you say so.

Yes, I say so…

On-Air-Personality life is generally quite easy, we are playing with the talk and whether we like it or not, we have to add value to the system because when you are talking what you are saying has to impact lives. I have been a broadcaster for 22 years now. I started when I was 19 years old, and I am 42 this year. So it is been a lifetime. It can be more like 22 years now because it’s all I have done all my life.

How would your assess private radio and television operations within the context of the contribution of electronic media to the nation’s development?

It is crucial; because before every Mallam had a tin and a kettle. But these days every Mallam has a radio. You cannot over-estimate the power of the media especially the radio in a period such as this. It will be disastrous to those who opt to do that.

What are the challenges faced by private electronic media operators in Nigeria?

Lots of challenges; multiple-taxation, you know the regular challenges of running a business in Nigeria; not getting support and unnecessary bills. In Nigeria, you know, a radio station has to run with electricity. It is not like a nightclub where you can switch off power during the day and have it on at night. A radio station has to be within 24 hours of the day. So it is very challenging to run. That much I can tell you. And it’s one of the reasons why I have not gone private myself because it is not something you can run on a low budget. You got to have a proper budget to run things properly.

Is there anything government can do to make it easier for private electronic media owners, for greater effectiveness?

It is to remove the multiple-taxations. That will really help. Cutting it down will really help.

Recently, you started this controversy that paying tithe is a sin and not biblical. What informed your war against tithing?

I have been preaching on the radio since Dan Forster left Cool FM and there was nobody to do Praise Jam. I found myself doing the show as part of my responsibilities; I was just thrown there. Luckily for me, I studied the Bible a bit more. So I just used to go there and tell them what I learn from the church. Sometimes, I listen to my pastor’s message on Sunday then mix it a bit and next Sunday will be the previous message. Or I listen to few other pastors and join their messages together you know; and it was fun. It was nice, it was inspiring, and I had a crowd following me initially.

But after a while, it wasn’t adding up for me. There were so many things that were not adding up in the Bible with regard to so many of the things they were preaching. They couldn’t be basically backed, and the more I studied the Bible the more I got a revelation about the Bible before I realised I will mix everything in my own version.

Now because I was on the radio as a gospel presenter on the weekend, I had access to “many men of God” or houses of worship. I also saw a lot of human hypocrisy in these houses of worship. I saw the fact that they will say one thing and do the other or they will cherry-pick. This is their biggest problem. Nigerian pastors are not pastors, they are cherry pickers. They have a cherry farm; they work very well, they know how to pick cherries. So they will sit down, they will cherry-pick the doctrine, twist it to the left, twist it to the right and come up with what they have and it wasn’t adding up for me.

I started little by little trying to challenge. I said: ‘come, guys, we know these things are not the way you people are saying it.’ Then they all came to attack me. Then I decided that it is not about us sitting down. Let’s go into full flare scriptural back-up. Let’s show if you people believe that you know what you are doing, bring your biblical support, bring your historical support, bring everything the way it is and I will also submit my piece. I made a claim. I said paying tithe is not scriptural for Christians. Then they all attacked me.

After a while, they started creeping out of their little holes and saying eh you cannot. You saw the (Pastor) Adeboye video late last year where he said it’s a curse if you don’t bring tithe. Then another one said it is not a curse but a must.’ Then another one said you shouldn’t even pay at all. I was like this is not Christianity versus Islam oooo. It’s not even Catholic versus Anglican; this is Pentecostals versus Pentecostals. You guys obviously don’t really know what you are doing. I said ok I will teach you guys what the Bible is saying.

The Bible is clear, tithing is of the law.

If you read Mathew 22:23, Jesus described it; he was talking to the Scribes and the Pharisees who were the teachers of the religious law. He said: ‘Oh ye Scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites; you tithe on your meals, on your incomes and your earnings, but you neglect the weightier matters of the law. Yet you still bribe.’

Some people try to defend that Jesus said we should tithe. No, he was talking to the Scribes and the Pharisees. The entire Galatians chapter two, Galatians chapter three, Galatian chapter 5:1-4, Hebrew 7:18 all nullify the law. Hebrew 7:18 describes the law as unprofitable and useless. So, if the teaching of Jesus was truly the book of Galatians chapter two has made it very clearly. Before Christ came, the law was our guardian. But now that Christ has come, we have a better covenant and that covenant absolutely nullifies the law. So they realized that they can’t sell tithe through Malachai again because Malachai is the law and the law has been done away with. They are now trying to sell a bunch of cunning devices. They say Abraham paid tithe to Melchizedek and Melchizedec is a representation of Christ in the Old Testament.

I said very well, there are two Christ; Christ before the sacrifice and Christ after the sacrifice. Whatever Christ did before the sacrifice does not count for Christianity. Our covenant with God starts on the cross. That is Christ for us. Melchizedek represented Christ of before our covenant. The Christ now does not need money or your tithe or anything. If he needed them he would have collected, there would have been a visible reference. Jesus Christ speaking to the multitude would have said time has come for you to pay your tithe.

Even those days, who were they paying tithe to? They were paying tithe to the temple and temple was run by a religion called Judaism, not Christianity. In the book of Galatians chapter three verse one, Paul was addressing the Galatians and said: “You foolish Galatians, were you redeemed by the law or by Christ?” Those who lean on the law were described as foolish. Galatian chapter 3:10 says when you follow the law you subject yourself to curse. Tithing is the law and by tithing, you subject yourself to a curse. Galatian 5:1-4 says “when you try to justify yourself by the law you cut yourself from Christ and you fall from God’s grace.”

It puts you in a position where you are cut-off from Christ and when you fall off from the grace. Then, Apostle Paul said it’s useless and unprofitable. The Bible said this much to them who lean on the law and none of our pastors, who are supposed to be our shepherds, can actually come out and tell the people the truth; that look, forget about tithe. They should look for other means to collect money from you because this tithing cannot fly. It is actually exposing the poor people that you are preaching it to flaw and then the curse of the law.

There are 613 laws of Moses; you have to obey every one of them. You can’t cherry-pick them. If you are caught in adultery, you should be stoned to death. If you work on the Sabbath, you should be stoned to death. These are all of the laws of Moses; that is where tithing came from. You can’t pick what you want to pick and leave the rest. The Bible is very clear on this. It says to obey the whole law, if you want to justify yourself by the law you must obey the whole law. A woman who loses her virginity when she is not married should be stoned to death. If you touch a woman during her period you are unclean until evening. A man is not allowed to cut the side of his hair or trim his beards. And Daddy GOs that a preaching this tithe matter are all clean shaven. How can a clean-shaven man tell me to go and obey the law that they themselves are disobeying? And guess what? Jesus gave us two laws.

He said all the laws and all the prophets are summed into two laws; love God and love your neighbour as yourself. How can you, a pastor, collect money from the congregation to build a school and the children of that congregation cannot attend that school? Do you love your neighbour like yourself? And your own children even attend better schools? You that is a pastor; you are disobeying Jesus then telling me to go and obey Malachai under the law. Are we Christians or are we Malachaians?

So you see, it is a faulty doctrine from the devil and the more we allow it the more we run into it. More people are realising that we worship God in error. If you go to the book of Act chapter 17:24, Paul was talking to the men in Athens and he points to a shrine and on the altar written ‘to an unknown God’. He said this altar dedicated to an unknown God, something you worshipped in ignorance is what I am here to teach you about. I have assumed that position. We have worshipped God in ignorance for too long.

Many people think that if you pay your tithe God blesses you. The richest men in the world, the top ten; none of them is even Christian let alone a tither.

Bill Gates, the first man to cross the $100 billion mark is not religious. These people don’t care about religion they work. China is out of poverty, it is a Buddhist nation; India is predominantly Hindu. We have more poor people in Nigeria than India. India has 1.3 billion people, we have less than 200 million people and we have more churches, more pastors more ‘believers’ and many of these things are not adding up. We are getting poorer by the day and more religious by the day.

I am enjoying all of this, but at the same time getting a bit worried. Aren’t you preaching atheism here?

I am preaching the word of Jesus because what we have been taught for so long has been so much of a lie. I tell you 95% of what we have been taught about Christianity when I point out the truth they think it’s blasphemous. The same thing they did to Jesus. Why was Jesus nailed to the cross? Blasphemy, that’s it. Do you understand?

Do you consider yourself a Christian?

Of course I am!

Have you ever paid tithe or refused to? Why?

I have paid tithe back in the days when I worshipped God in error. But now that I know it is a faulty doctrine, it is actually a sin for you to pay tithe. Any time you put yourself under the law it is a sin. Do you want me to read it to you from my Bible? Let’s go to Galatians chapter 2. I am reading from the New Living Translation verse 14 which says: “When I saw that they were not following by the truth of the gospel message, I said to Peter in front of all the others. Since you, a Jew by birth, have discarded the Jewish law and are living like these gentiles why are you trying to make these gentiles follow the Jewish tradition?” Tithing was a Jewish tradition. Peter who was born a Jew had discarded tithing. I will take it further. If you go to verse 17 he says: “But suppose we seek to be made right with God through faith in Christ and then we are found guilty because we have abandoned the law. Would that mean Christ has led to sin?” Then verse 18 answers it and it says absolutely not. Rather I am a sinner if I rebuild the old system of law I already tore down. When you rebuild tithing you are a sinner. To pay tithe is a sin in Christianity. They will never teach you that because they are thieves, they are greedy, they are hungry you know.

Aren’t you afraid continuing these attacks on our Daddy GOs, at least, the Bible says touch not my anointed and do them no harm; because they are representatives of God?

No, I was never afraid of them. Who told you that they are representatives of God? Touch not my anointed is an Old Testament Bible verse taken from King David, who was not a Christian. A lot of people make that mistake. Christianity did not start until after the crucifixion, until after Jesus Christ.

Then why is Abraham called the father of the Christian faith?

Abraham was the father of three religions – Judaism, Christianity and Islam. For you to sit down and say Abraham is the father of Christianity is very ambitious. There was no Christianity until our covenant with God and that covenant cannot be backdated. Abraham was never the likeness of Jesus and he still was not covered by our covenant. Our covenant started from the cross an Abraham did not partake of the gift of the Holy Spirit which started after the resurrection. The same thing goes for Jacob and that is why is dangerous to borrow doctrines of these people.

I will give you an example, whether you like it or not, it is true. Jacob stole his brother’s blessing. That is not quite Christ-like. It worked for them at that time during that period when that is how things worked. But Paul did not steal Peters blessing. That is not Christianity; they were prophets of God and all that but they are our history, they are not our religion.

Abraham is not the father of Christianity, Jesus is the father of Christianity, Abraham is our ancestor. Is like saying Ojukwu’s father is the father of Biafra. No, the father of Biafra is Ojukwu and his father you can say is the ancestor of Biafra because Biafra started with Ojukwu.

How did you feel when some Nigerians expressed displeasure that you called Bishop Oyedepo a bald-headed fowl?

I never did such a thing.

Eeeeh. It was on your twitter handle though no name was mentioned?

I never called anybody. I don’t like calling names, I just preach my doctrine and I help people unlearn their lies. So that was the figment of the reporter’s imagination. You know reporters have very fertile imaginations. I know that whoever owns the message knows it and those who he is or who she is, anyone who is operating under false doctrine can fall under that line.

How does it feel to know that one of the leading Bishops has confessed that they conjured all sorts of semantics to frighten the congregation to pay tithes?

They have owned up to frightening people because we have been able to show, with the scriptures that it is wrong to pay tithes! My question is what else do they manufacture? When you come out and say you were conjuring, I want them to come out the whole truth of what they were conjuring. So that is my message to them. We want the whole truth.  (New Telegraph)

Video: Bishop Mike Okonkwo Makes Shocking Confession About His Teaching On Tithing

Former president of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria and founder of The Redeemed Evangelical Mission TREM church, Bishop Mike Okonkwo, recently admitted he had been wrongfully teaching his members on the very controversial topic, Tithing.

In a video making the rounds on social media, Bishop Mike Okonkwo admitted he had in the time past preached frightening messages to his congregation just to get them to pay their tithes. He admitted that pastors conjure all kinds of things just to get their members to give the tithe.

”If you don’t tithe, things will be tight for you” he listed this and some others as the erroneous words clergymen say to get their members frightened to give their tithe.

He went on to add that Christians are to give to God willingly and not be cajoled or forced to give. Watch the video below

Toilet Found In 3,000-year-old Shrine Verifies Bible Stories Against Idol Worship

Archaeologists have discovered a symbolic toilet from the eighth century B.C. in Jerusalem that could be a clue to religious reforms in the Kingdom of Judah. Religious reforms, in this case, is a euphemism for quite literally defecating on the holy places one wishes to drive out of business.

The stone toilet sits in Tel Lachish, a sprawling Iron Age city and the Kingdom of Judah’s most important one after the capitol, Jerusalem. It was found in what the archaeologists believe to be a gate-shrine within Israel’s largest ancient city gate. The ruler at that time, King Hezekiah, enacted campaigns of religious worship and reform that made their way into the Hebrew Bible on multiple occasions.

In one corner of the shrine sits a stone seat with a hole in the center. The archaeologists believe that not only is it definitely a toilet, it’s a toilet that was installed for the express purpose of literally desecrating the shrine. Hezekiah, it seems, was just following instructions against idol worship in the scriptures:

“Then they demolished the pillar of Baal, and destroyed the temple of Baal, and made it a latrine to this day” (2 Kings 10:27).

Sa’ar Ganor and Igor Kreimerman, the archaeologists who conducted the excavations on behalf of the Israel Antiquities Authority (IAA), described their work in the article “Going to the Bathroom at Lachish” in the November/December 2017 issue of Biblical Archaeology Review.

“The cult worship was eradicated, here’s the evidence, smashing the altar horns. But not only was it annulled, in Lachish they put in a throne, the same stone you see here,” Ganor told Times of Israel while pointing to the stone toilet.

Discovered on-site at the gate complex, which measures 80 square feet, were storage jars belonging to Hezekiah that could be indicative of his preparations for siege by Assyrian rivals. Tel Lachish was ultimately destroyed in 701 B.C.

Alters within the shrine had been deliberately desecrated. The archaeologists believe the damage lines up with the Biblical references to Hezekiah’s campaigns to concentrate all religious worship (only of Yahweh) in Jerusalem and outlaw it everywhere else, Lachish included.

Hezekiah’s behavior basically stemmed from his belief that his ancestors hadn’t worshipped piously enough by turning to other gods, a lapse he apparently intended to remedy by both literally and figuratively defecating on holy places set up to worship those gods.

According to Biblical Archaeology, Hezekiah’s religious cleansing campaign is discussed in multiple verses including 2 Kings 18:4, which reads that he “removed the high places (bamot), broke down the pillars (masseboth), and cut down the sacred pole (asherah).” (Newsweek)

Bible: Explorers Claim They’ve Discovered Noah’s Ark From Book Of Genesis

More than 100 international researchers recently convened for a three-day symposium to discuss new evidence that the Biblical ark from the Book of Genesis made landfall at Mount Ararat in Turkey, according to the Nation. One “ark hunter” in particular believe he’s found the ark’s final resting place.

“The result of my findings will be published in books, publications and journals, but at this point it is too early to know what we are going to find,” Raul Esperante of the Geoscience Research Institute said, according to the Nation. “Once the scientific community knows about the existence of Noah’s Ark in Mount Ararat, we can make it available to the general public.”

In 2010, evangelical Chinese and Turkish researchers claimed to have found wooden remnants from an “ark-like” structure around 13,000 feet up Agri Mountain, the highest peak in Turkey, according to the Nation.

They said that carbon dating had revealed the wood to be around 4,800 years old, which conceivably places it in the same historical period as when the flood was said to have occurred. Esperante asked for funds to be able to continue that work, according to the Nation.

The Book of Genesis records that the ark came to rest in the mountains of Ararat, which corresponds to Agri, after riding out the Great Flood for 150 days.

“There have been, from the 19th century through the present, many claims that Noah’s Ark has been discovered around Mount Ararat,” Brent Landau, a biblical scholar at the University of Texas at Austin who was not affiliated with the recent work, told Newsweek over email.

“But these claims have almost always been made by biblical literalists, who believe that the Bible is 100 percent true, so they are certainly not conducting their investigations from a neutral scientific perspective.”

The Geoscience Research Institute isn’t an impartial entity; it’s sponsored by the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Esperante hadn’t responded to a request for comment as of press time.

The existence of the Great Flood itself is highly contested for obvious reasons, but there’s evidence accepted by both religious and secular scientists (including Landau) that such an event could have occurred, even if the timeline differs a bit from what appears in the Book of Genesis. Still, a great many people who go searching for the ark itself seem to find it, and the evidence doesn’t usually get much traction.

The 2010 discovery was widely debunked as a hoax, according to outlets like NBC. At the time, the Christian Science Monitor also quoted an evangelical scientist (and former member of the research group behind the alleged discovery) as saying he had believed “proper analysis may show this to be a hoax.” Still, Esperante and many like him think otherwise.

“All of the previous claims that Noah’s Ark has been discovered have turned out to be outright hoaxes—with wooden beams or other artifacts planted there by the discoverers themselves—or natural rock formations that look somewhat like a giant boat,” Landau wrote to Newsweek. “I am quite confident that this present claim will turn out to be more of the same.”       (Newsweek)

Tithe: Nigerian GO, Ufuoma Apologises To Congregation For Collecting Tithe Over The Years

By Ike A. Offor

The general overseer of the Godist Church, Port Harcourt, Pastor Bernard Ufuoma has come out openly to acknowledge that collection of tithe from his congregants is indeed against the scripture, as he put it in his Facebook wall write-up.

The writer has known Bernard for some years and could attest that he is a very passionate preacher and founder of Godist Church.

Pastor Ufuoma has written and spoken out vigorously against the politics in Pentecostal church establishment, where politics takes the front seat when it comes to change of guard or general overseer, when or if the old one steps down or passes on.

He has as well spoken out about the demise of the founder of Olumba Olumba Obu, who claimed that he was God and will never age or die, but according to him, Obu grew old and died and his burial was shrouded in secrecy. He said “the handsome first son of the founder Roland Obu and his  sister Ebum Obu are now fighting for the control or leadership of the Olumba Olumba Obu, OOO.

In his passionate and open apology to his followers, Pastor Bernard Ufuoma declared that Daddy Freeze has opened his eyes and he will henceforth not receive tithe in his church.

Here is his apology on his Facebook wall:

I repent for collecting tithes. As the GO of the Godist Church I declare tithing is unscriptural and unscrupulous and our ministry will no longer receive tithes. Daddy Freeze opened my eyes. I used to scare my members with Malachi 3:8 and honestly it invokes fear in them and they comply. Am so sorry for the manipulations.

He said that tithing is unscriptural and unscrupulous and his ministry will no longer receive tithe. He cited how the Holy book Malachi 3:8 is potently used to instil fear on congregants to psychologically cause them to give tithe.

Pastor Ufuoma apology on The Republican News Facebook page received some strong criticism from readers, and one of them was very harsh.

Mr Emman Arkney, had this to say to Pastor Bernard Ufuoma: “To Bernard Ufuoma, General Overseer. Godist Church, PH

Pls go and re-examine your calling as a pastor. From every indication, you are not a pastor. You do not have testimony of Christ as your Redeemer and Savior. You are a fraud. You must repent and be truly born again.

If in all your years of pastoring till you became a founder and general overseer of a church, you never had a right perspective of tithing, your ministry has more questions than answers. You do not have any moral justification to mount any alter of God to preach.

If you’re now convinced by a mere radio broadcaster that tithing is unscriptural, then you have a lot of restitution to make… return all the tithes you collected to their payers. In addition, you should return the tithes with 5%. It’s only then you can free yourself from guilt. If you fail to do so, anybody who sits under your ministration is under curse.”

Daddy Freeze seemed to have unleashed some barrage of ammunitions that could revolutionise the tithe-collecting churches.
