I Slept With My Girlfriend’s Corpse For 6 Days, Says Suspected Killer Of Ex-Deputy Gov’s Daughter

Adeyemi Alao MURDER SUSPECT - SLEPT WITH VICTIM'S CORPSE

Bamigbola Gbolagunte, Akure

Suspected killer of Khadijat Adenike, daughter of former deputy governor of Ondo State, Alhaji Lasisi Oluboyo, Adeyemi Alao, has confessed that he slept with the corpse of khadijat for six days in his room.

Alao, who claimed to be Khadijat’s boyfriend of over five years, said he had no intention of killing his late girlfriend when he invited her to his residence at Oke-Aro area of Akure until he met her making love with another person in his room.

The suspected killer, who was paraded yesterday at the state police headquarters in Akure, confessed that he dug a grave inside his room in an attempt to bury Khadijat before he was arrested by the police.
Alao was arrested on Sunday, following the discovery of the corpse of Khadijat, a final year student of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, in his house by the police.

The deceased had earlier been declared missing by her parent when she could not be found by her friends in school and the parent, also, could not find her at home.

The suspect, while being interrogated, confirmed the killing of the deceased, but denied responsibility for her death, saying he met her dead inside his room.

He said the late Khadijat was notorious for sex and could have sexual intercourse with any individual not minding the status or age of the fellow.

“She called me that she was in Lagos and I asked what she was doing in Lagos.  She said she was there to perfect the project she was writing. She told me she would come to visit me after leaving Lagos and she came, but, the following day she went out and returned with two boys who she claimed were his brothers.

“I went out one day and when I returned, I saw one of the boys she called her friend making love with her. I was furious and I beat her to a pulp. The boy escaped because he threatened to shoot me with a gun in his hand,” he added.

Alao, who denied rumours that he killed Khadijat for ritual purpose, confessed that he made arrangements to bury her inside the room, having dug a grave but was eventually caught.

Commissioner of Police, Mr Gbenga Adeyanju, said the suspected killer would face the full wrath of the law.

He said the suspect will soon be prosecuted and added that the accomplices of Alao would be arrested and also prosecuted.  (The Sun)

Many Injured As Yoruba, Hausa Clash In Ondo |The Republican News

Hausa-Yoruba-clash-in-Ondo

Peter Dada, Akure

There was pandemonium on Sunday in the Sabo area of Akure, the Ondo State capital, as the Yoruba engaged in a free-for-all with some members of the Hausa community, leading to many people being injured.

It was gathered that the fight involved some followers of a masquerade in Akure who entered the Sabo area, where most of the Hausa resided.

A source explained that the followers of the masquerade passed through the Old Garage area of Akure where some Hausas sold groceries.

The followers were alleged to have attempted to disrupt the business of the Hausa traders which was resisted by the latter, leading to a clash.

The source said, “The crisis started after some followers of the Akure masquerader disturbed the activities of the Hausa, who were selling at the Old Garage area. “

It was gathered that vehicular movement was halted on Oba Adesida Road for several hours.

Some motorcycles were reportedly burnt, while some houses were torched.

Also, men of the state police command and the 32 Artillery Brigade of the Nigerian Army, were reportedly deployed in the scene to forestall further breakdown of law and order.

Confirming the incident, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Femi Joseph, said the command had begun an investigation into the matter.

He said, “We learnt that some people who were following a masquerader had issues with some members of the Hausa community. But immediately we drafted our men there, normalcy was returned. We are still looking for the people that caused the crisis. If we arrest them, we will charge them to court.”

The Chief Press Secretary to the Deji of Akure, Oba Aladelusi Aladetoyinbo, Mr Michael Adeyeye, said the palace was also investigating the matter.   (Punch)

Presidency Orders Meeting Of Security Chiefs, Ondo Gov’t Over Militants’ Arms |RN

From: Bamigbola Gbolagunte, Akure

President Muhammadu Buhari has reportedly ordered a meeting of
security chiefs with officials of the Ondo State Government following
the submission of suphisticated weapons by militants in the creeks of
the state.

It was gathered that the president directed security chiefs to meet
with officials of the state government and members of the state’s
amnesty committee.

Also, it was gathered that the presidency was worried by the quality
of weapons recovered from militants in the creeks of Ondo State.

The meeting ordered by President Buhari, it was learnt was meant to
review the security situation in oil rich Niger Delta region.

A source revealed that governors of the nine oil producing states as
well as security chiefs are expected at the parley.

According to the source, the meeting which is being coordinated by the
Director General of the Department of State Services(DSS), Mallam
Lawal Daura is coming on the heels of the massive arms haul effected
by the Ondo State Amnesty Committee in conjunction with security
agencies.

The source hinted that the proposed meeting became necessary because
it was widely believed before now that aside the Niger Delta Avengers,
none of the militant group has the capacity to pull through a massive
arms hold as witnessed in Ondo State last week.

At the riverine Ajapa community in Ese-Odo Local Government Area of
the state, the Amnesty Committee in company of security chiefs had
last week recovered dangerous assorted weapons from militants.

The recovered arms included a Browning machine gun, one General
Purpose Machine Gun (GPMG), Daewoo K3, Colt Automatic Rifles, Breda
30, Fiat Revelli Modelling, several AK 47 Rifles, one Rocket Launcher,
CETME Ameli, Heckler & Koch MG4, tens of Pump Action rifles and some
Automatic Cartridges.

Also surrendered by militants were military uniforms, police bullet
proof vests, dynamites, grenades, bombs and helmets.

The arms were turned in by the kidnappers of the six students of
Igbonla Model College, Epe, Lagos state and other militants.

A member of the state’s amnesty committee who preffered anonymity said
“what we saw was like a film, no one ever envisaged that these young
boys would amass this quality of weapons and keep. It is highly
embarrassing, to say the least.

“As soon as the photographs of the arms were released and it was
confirmed that the arms were from that community aside several others
that were recovered from other villages, the president ordered that an
appraisal be done immediately.

“That is why all the governors of the Niger Delta region and the
security chiefs will meet on Wednesday because no one had any inkling
that apart from the avengers, any such group could muster this massive
hold of weapons.

“It is a thing of great concern and worry to every responsible
government because some of the weapons the militants surrendered are
not just arms even a country can easily procure, it takes a process.
So the question is, how did these boys get to this level.

“More efforts should be made by all the governors of the region to
adopt the Ondo model to mop up arms because there are likely to be
more dangerous game groups with far more sophisticated weapons at
their disposal,” he added.    (The Sun)

72-year-old Woman Raped by Fulani Herdsmen In Ondo |The Republican News

A 72-year-old woman (name withheld) was allegedly raped by some suspected Fulani herdsmen on her farmland in Ore, Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State.

Similarly, another woman (name withheld) was also allegedly raped by the same set of herdsmen in the council area.

Speaking on her experience in the hands of the alleged rapists, the septuagenarian, Akinseye explained that she was working on her farm on the fateful day when the two Fulani herdsmen attacked her and took turns to rape her.

She said, “I was working on the farm when the two men invaded my farm and before I could question them on their mission in my farm, they gagged me and tear my clothes and they raped me one after the other. They threatened to kill me thereafter if I make any noise and left me in the farm after injuring me”

Youths from the area under the auspices of Ondo State Youth Coalition and farmers across the 18 local government area of the state on Wednesday protested against the development and also against the incessant attack on their women in the area.

The protesters threatened to take laws into their hands if the state government and the security agencies in the state failed to address the issue immediately.

The Coordinator of the OSYC, Mr Oluwatuyi Adekanmbi, said herdsmen had turned themselves to terrors in Ondo State by perpetrating in series of crimes which included: rape, farm destruction, killing as well as kidnapping in their land.

The group called on the state governor, Mr Rotimi Akeredolu and the Ondo State House of Assembly to enact a law that will effectively stop the incessant attack from the herdsmen in order to protect farmers, their wives and their farm and to ensure the security of lives.

He said “One of our the farmers, Orimisan Omowole was murdered on his farm in Odigbo local government area of the state. After killing him they took out his heart and placed it on his chest

“We are not against cattle rearing or saying cattle rearing should be banned but we want free grazing of cattle on our farms, at our expense with wanton destructions of our crops and means of livelihood to be stopped forthwith.”

The residents of Obanla area in Akure, Ondo State were astonished when a middle-aged man identified as Oluwole Aiyeloja cut off his penis with a razor blade publicly on Thursday.

According to an eyewitness, who did not want his name in print, Aiyeloja, after cutting off his penis, was trying to cut the scrotum to pull out the testicles, but a Good Samaritan ran to him, took the razor and rushed him to a police station.

The source said, “We were at Obanla Junction (Akure) when we saw a well-dressed man sitting on a bench. Suddenly, he just started pulling off his clothes right there. Later, he started cutting his penis to the shock of everyone.

“It was very gory; blood started gushing out of his private part. One man had to run to him (Aiyeloja) and collected the razor from him before other people went to the ‘A’ Division Police Station to invite the police. He was later rushed to the hospital.”

According to the eyewitness, the appearance of Aiyeloja did not show any visible sign that he was mentally challenged.

The Public Relations Officer of the Ondo State Police Command, Femi Joseph, who confirmed the incident, said the command had commenced an investigation into the matter and that preliminary investigation showed that Aiyeloja might be suffering from “a spiritual or psychological problem.”

Joseph said, “When we interrogated him, he said a ‘monster’ had been talking to him to take some weird decisions. He said it was the ‘monster’ that instructed him to cut his penis for a donation which he did. He added that the ‘monster’ also instructed him to donate his testicles.

“He really needs help, which we are trying to give him. At present, he is responding to treatment at the police hospital.”

Joseph, however, said the victim would not be charged for any offence, despite causing harm to himself as the concern of the police “for now is how to get him necessary help.” (Punchng.com)

BREAKING: Suspected Kidnappers, Ritualists’ Den Discovered Beside Ondo Assembly

Ondostatehouse

An uncompleted two-storey building suspected to be a hideout of kidnappers and ritualists was on Monday discovered in Alagbaka area of Akure, the Ondo State capital.

The building is located a few meters away from the Ondo State House of Assembly and it is behind the popular government-owned events centre, the Gani Fawehinmi Arcade, said to be owned by a retired civil servant in the state.

The abandoned uncompleted building was discovered by the residents of the area who suspected that some men were always inside the building performing numerous secret activities on a daily basis.

A resident of the area, on condition of anonymity, told our correspondent that the building has been abandoned for a long time and many residents of the area did not know the owner.

He explained that a security operative attached to one of the buildings in the area shot a bird that had perched on a tree beside the suspected ritualists’ den.

                                                            The abandoned building

On hearing the gunshot, the suspected hoodlums reportedly rushed out and fled.

Our source narrated, “The suspects thought the gunshot was from the policemen who came to them. They quickly rushed out, but some commercial motorcycle riders in the area helped us to chase and arrest four of them, whom we later handed over to the police.”

The source added that it was the timely intervention of policemen that saved the suspects from being lynched by the angry residents of the area.

When our correspondent visited the building, items of clothing littered the place; and they include women’s underwear, sandals, slippers, cooking utensils, mattresses, toothpaste and toothbrushes, among other items.

Also, a long rope was also found inside one of the rooms. The rope was tied to the ceiling of the building at one end, while the other end of the rope was knotted. Some planks were underneath the rope.

The rope is suspected to be used for hanging their victims.

In his reaction, the Ondo State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Femi Joseph, who confirmed the development, said many suspects have been arrested in connection with the matter.

Joseph said, “We have arrested quite a number of them and we are currently interrogating them. It is after the interrogation and investigation that we can conclude whether they are ritualists or not.”

Joseph, who did not specify the number of suspects arrested, said they would be charged to court before the end of this week. (Punchng.com)
