Nnamdi Kanu Gives South East Governors 14 Days To Ban Open Grazing In The Region |The Republican News

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the Leader of theIndigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has given South-East Governors a 14-day ultimatum to ban all forms of open grazing in the region in compliance with the 1969 statutory law of Nigeria.

The IPOB leader gave the ultimatum while commending governors of the South-West who recently announced a ban on open grazing in their states as part of measures to stop the incessant clash between Farmers and herdsmen.

In a statement released by IPOB’s Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, Kanu warned that the group’s security outfit would commence enforcement of the anti-grazing Law across the entire region if no action was taken at the expiration of the ultimatum.

“We wish to humbly and most submissively call upon all the governors of the East, to as a matter of urgency, ban all manner of open grazing in the region in compliance with the 1969 statutory law of Nigeria that banned such provocative and primitive practice by Fulani herdsmen.

“The bold step taken by Yoruba governors in banning open grazing in their region is commendable and as such MUST be reciprocated and consolidated by a similar pronouncement in the East.

“If after 14 days there is no firm and decisive action by Eastern governors to ban open grazing in our land, ESN will step into the breach to commence the enforcement of this 1969 Anti-Grazing Law across the entire region. Don’t say you were not informed or given prior warning.”

Nigerian Army Deploys Aircraft, Gun Trucks In Search Of Eastern Security Network Camp |The Republican News

By Olumuyiwa Olayinka

The Nigerian Army has deployed combat helicopters, gun trucks and soldiers to search some forests in the South-East states where the Eastern Security Network, recently launched by Nnamdi Kanu, is suspected to be camping.

SaharaReporters learnt that the military search had been ongoing for days, and has no time frame, as the army was acting on “orders from above.”

From the drones and hidden cameras believed to be installed by the ESN, a video captured the Nigerian Army helicopters and their vehicles and soldiers searching for the camp of the ESN to make arrests.

Kanu, a leader of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, on December 12, launched the ESN, saying the regional security outfit, just like Amotekun in the South-West, would help tackle crime.

“The Nigerian Army that is supposed to fight Boko Haram were seen everywhere searching for the camp of Eastern Security Network team. But they forgot they are dealing with sophisticated men. There are cameras and drones everywhere watching them,” an official told Saharareporters.

“If the Nigerian Armed Forces attack the ESN, the people of Southern Kaduna, the Middle Belt, and the South-West must use that opportunity to flush out the Fulanis in their region. The Nigerian Army will disintegrate, and all will be free,” another aggrieved official added.

Two days after Kanu launched the ESN, the Yoruba’s socio-cultural group, Afenifere, lent its support, noting that Nigeria must embrace regional policing as the only remedy to insecurity.

The Afenifere National Publicity Secretary, Yinka Odumakin, in an interview with SaharaReporters, had stated this, adding that the distorted federal police could no longer secure the country; hence the establishment of regional security outfits to protect lives and property.

He said, “It is seen that the central policing in Nigeria has collapsed, and the regional policing is not a new thing in this country. And, I tell you, we are back to the era of regional policing.

“The security challenges have gone beyond what the Nigeria police can handle, and since we have had regional policing before, we are back into the era again.”

When asked if this is commendable and needed, he said, “Kanu is doing what is good for his region.”

The Director, Army Public Relations, Brig-Gen Sagir Musa, could not be reached for comments on the deployment of the aircraft.

IPOB Warns Vigilante Groups Not To Be Used By Politicians To Attack Eastern Security Network |The Republican News

The newly formed Eastern Security Network by the leader of IPOB, Maazi Nnamdi Kanu has warned various vigilantes in old Eastern region not be used by politicians to attack their security personnel.

IPOB in its press release gave the warning and asked these vigilantes to desist from being used by fraudulent politicians who want to use it as a pretence to call in the Nigerian military.

The press release is below

IPOB PRESS RELEASE
28/12/2020

WOE BETIDE ANY COMMUNITY WHERE ESN PERSONNEL IS ATTACKED- IPOB

Through Intelligence gathering, it has come to the knowledge of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, IPOB, under the command of our Leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, that the treacherous Governors of the Old Eastern Region, are now recruiting traditional rulers, President Generals and politicians to moblise some local vigilantes to engage Eastern Security Network, ESN in their various localities. The game plan is to orchestrate crisis between the vigilante groups and ESN to pave the way for Nigeria soldiers to attack ESN personnel.

We therefore, wish to warn all local vigilantes in every state of Biafra who have been/may be contacted or are being recruited by the masterminds of this evil agenda through the traditional rulers and President Generals (PGs) of any community or town in Biafraland to attack ESN operatives to have a rethink. Embarking on such unholy mission is suicidal!

Anyone, vigilante group, community, traditional ruler or President General, political elite or anybody under any guise who will connive with the enemy to expose or attack ESN in their locality will live in eternal regret of such satanic mission. It’s not a threat but a promise!

Is it not ridiculous and stupidity that these bunch of idiots who could not mobilise in search of Fulani terrorists maiming and raping women in their communities, destroying their crops and slaughtering them like cows, are now mobilising to go after ESN – a security outfit established to protect Biafrans against the Invaders? Instead of mobilising to stop those on a mission to takeover their ancestral lands these fools without any modicum of shame are busy conniving with the enemies of Biafra to sabotage ESN – their only defense line and last hope of survival.

We want to make it clear that leaders of any community in Biafra land where any ESN personnel is attacked will pay dearly for such attack. In the same way, the Governor of any state where the security outfit is attacked shall also be held responsible. Any traditional ruler, PG and vigilante group who collaborates with the Nigeria military to attack ESN operatives should be prepared to bear the bitter consequences of his treachery.

ESN is not a Biafran Army but a mere vigilante group set up to defend the people of the Old Eastern region against terrorists and criminals responsible for the growing insecurity in the region. ESN is not after law-abiding citizens but criminals. Members of the outfit have not molested any law abiding citizens but have remained in the forests to rid our land of terrorists and ensure our farms are safe again for our people to resume farming activities. They have done nothing to warrant any attack more so when the real terrorists and bandits are still killing and maiming innocent locals daily unchallenged by the highly compromised security agencies.

ESN is a child of necessity which has come to stay. The failure of governors from the South East and South South to float a regional security outfit to protect the people against terrorists gave birth to ESN to do what the cowardly governors have failed to do. It’s the people’s movement and no amount of sabotage can stop it. Anyone standing in its way shall be crushed.

May we also advise the Nigerian Army and other security agencies to stop dissipating energy towards stopping ESN, and rather channel it against Boko Haram, ISWAP, bandits and other terrorists rampaging the North. They should be concerned about rescuing the North from the enclave of terrorists instead of wasting resources to hunt down ESN personnel securing Biafra land against terrorists.

We specifically warn Gov. Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State not to push us any further against the wall. We have tolerated his madness enough. His kinsmen and friends should advise him to stop curting the wrath of IPOB because he doesn’t have the dancing steps of the music he wants to play. He cannot sacrifice Biafran freedom on the altar of his imaginary Presidental ambition. Umahi must re-trace his steps now and not test our resolve to protect our land.

Nnamdi Kanu Wants Nigerian Government To Invite Him, IPOB For Biafra Exit Talks |The Republican News

IPOB Leader, Maazi Nnamdi Kanu

Eke Isaac

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) leader, Nnamdi Kanu, has called on Nigerian Government to invite him and his group to negotiate for the peaceful exit of Biafra.

This was as he condemned the arrest of the convener of the Katsina protest over killings in the state by bandits.

Kanu blamed the arrest of the organiser of the peaceful protest on ‘Fulani cabal,’ who he claimed were ruling Nigeria.

The IPOB leader, who stated this in a broadcast on Radio Biafra said:

“The people of Katsina protested something that is even their right as is being done around the world in the name of ‘black lives matter’; the organiser of the same protest in Katsina, Nastiwa Sharif, was arrested.

“Amnesty international has reported that they have arrested this man because he is crying out about the killing of his people by bandits. What is happening today we foretold it, and we knew they will happen”.

Further noting that Nigerians were no longer ready to ignore the misrule, injustice and hardship owing to neglect by their leaders, Kanu said, “For the first time in the history of Nigeria, the indigenous people of Katsina have risen up and have asked for a state of emergency.”
He then said that if the Federal Government failed to summon him and IPOB to “discuss Biafra exit, with what happened in Katsina, they will lose Sokoto also.”

Kanu also condemned the killing of Christians in the North.

According to him, if Christians in the North, which he claimed outnumbered the Muslims, should retaliate attacks on them, it would be fatal.

He, therefore, urged Nigerian government to take action and stop the killings.

He insisted that very soon, the ‘Fulani Cabals’ were going to “lose your emirate in Sokoto, if you keep delaying people’s right to separate”.

On Nigerian churches Kanu said, “The problem with the churches in Nigeria is that you are just about money; you keep quiet with all the happenings in the country. You don’t condemn the killings in Nigeria.”

Speaking further on Biafra, Kanu said, “IPOB is light and it wants the light to shine on the people of Biafra. I want people to understand that we have proof for the migration of our people from Israel.

“The book of Zephaniah 3:10 says, after Ethiopia you will see my people there. Look at the map, after Ethiopia, it is Biafara.

“I told you that Biafra is the kingdom of God on earth. Everywhere they are, they represent light. How else do you need me to tell you that you are special? Biafra is not like any other nation of the world and we make no apologies to that”.

Kanu also condemned Igbo traditional rulers and community leaders allegedly giving out land to herdsmen in return for money.

He said the herdsmen turn back to maim, rape and kill the owners of the land.
