Pastors Kill Brother-in-law For Preventing Church Service In Ogun

Suspects: Ejim and Chukwuka Stephen

Deji Lambo and Tunji Bosun

Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested two pastors, Chukwuka Stephen and Ejim Stephen, for allegedly killing their brother-in-law, Peter Chukwuyem, in the Papa-Ibafo area of the state.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said in a statement on Thursday that the suspects, while living with Chukwuyem, were using the frontage of his house to conduct church services.

He stated that Chukwuka and Ejim became embittered when Chukwuyem stopped them from conducting church services in the frontage of his house, adding that when the victim went to the farm, the brothers allegedly waylaid and killed him.

Oyeyemi said, “Men of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested two self-acclaimed pastors, Chuckwuka Stephen, 43, and Ejim Stephen, 39, for killing their brother in-law, Peter Chukwuyem, on Tuesday, February 5, 2019.

“The victim, who was married to the elder sister of the two suspects, brought them from their village in Delta State to Papa-Ibafo in Ogun State, where they lived with the couple for some time. While they were living with the deceased, they were using the frontage of his house for their church activities, but when their conduct was no longer pleasant to their brother-in-law, he sent them away from the place, which led to them nursing animosity against the deceased.

“On Tuesday, February 5, 2019, the deceased went to his farm with two of his teenage daughters in the morning and met the suspects on the farm. Because of the presence of the two girls, the suspects were unable to do anything to him for fear of being exposed. In the evening of the same day, the deceased went back to the farm alone and the suspects, who had been waiting for him on the farm, accosted him and butchered him to death.”

Oyeyemi said when it was getting late and the deceased was nowhere to be found, his wife traced him to the farm and found his corpse.

He stated that the police arrested the suspects after the daughters of the deceased informed them that they saw Chukwuka and Ejim on their father’s farm in the morning. He added that during interrogation, the suspects owned up to the crime.

The PPRO said, “It was when the deceased didn’t return on time that his wife traced him to the farm and found his dead body. She subsequently went to the Ibafo Police Station, where she lodged a complaint. The two brothers were later arrested by the police at Ibafo based on the accounts of the two daughters of the deceased, who informed the police that they saw the two suspects earlier on their father’s farm.

“On interrogation, the suspects denied killing their brother-in-law, but when they were confronted by the two daughters of the deceased, they confessed to killing the deceased on his farm, because he deprived them the continuous use of his frontage for their church activities.

“The corpse of the deceased was subsequently removed and deposited in the General Hospital mortuary for post-mortem examination.”

Oyeyemi added that the Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, had ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to the homicide section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for proper investigation and prosecution. (Punch)

Married Woman Dies While Spending Night With Man Who Has Three Wives |RN

court-symbol-of-justice-600x352

The Plateau Police Command has arrested a 42-year-old man, Gundumi Saya, over the death of his married lover, one Mrs. Hajara Markus, who died while spending the night with him.

According to the Police charge sheet currently before Justice Daniel Longji of the Plateau State High Court, Jos, Saya, who has three wives and 14 children, is a resident of Zango-Dinya in Bassa Local Government of Plateau.

The accused, who is being charged with culpable homicide, allegedly committed the offence on November 21, 2018.

The Police alleged that the suspect, on November 21, committed the act of adultery with the deceased when he lured her out of her matrimonial home to have sexual intercourse with her, an offence that contravened Section 368 of the Penal Code.

The charge sheet further said that the suspect intentionally dumped the body of the deceased by the road side, after he realised that she had died in his custody while he was having sexual relations with him.

It said that the accused refused to inform the Police of Hajara’s death, thereby contravening sections 189 and 102 of the Penal Code.

The suspect, in a confessional statement, however, denied killing his lover, stating that he woke up to make love to her in the middle of the night, only to find her dead.

“I have known Hajara before she got married; I have been in a relationship with her for a long time. In-between, she got married and got divorced twice, but we still kept on seeing each other until she got married again a few years ago.

“Whenever I wanted to have sexual relations with her, I invited her to the bush where we will catch our fun, and she will return home.

“On the said date, we arranged to meet at my friend’s place, one Ojukwu, who is also married, after she had told her husband that she was going for a wedding in Bauchi State.

“As agreed, we met at Ojukwu’s house and he (Ojukwu) gave us a room to pass the night.

“Ojukwu’s wife later sent a boy with garri (cassava flour) and kuli-kuli (groundnut cake) to Hajara, which she soaked and took after which she retired to sleep.

“I woke up at 2a.m. to make love to her, but discovered that she was motionless. I quickly ran to Ojukwu’s room to alert him, but his wife told me that he did not sleep at home.

“I called him on phone to tell him what happened; when he came, I suggested that we should report the matter to the Police, but he told me not to do that because I would land in serious trouble.’’

The statement quoted the accused as claiming that Ojukwu advised him to dump the body by the roadside, which they both did, and went their separate ways.

The statement said further: “Six days after we dumped Hajara’s body, I heard some commotion in front of my house and when I peeped, I saw policemen who came to arrest me.

“I ran to the bush and stayed there for three days after which my daughter called to tell me that my elder brother had been taken away by the Police.

“I felt bad when I heard that sad news and decided to surrender myself to the Police.’’

In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria on Thursday in Jos, Saya maintained that he had no hand in the death of the late woman.

“I did not kill her. But I may not know if my friend’s wife poisoned the garri she gave her because that was the last thing she took before going to bed.’’

Husband to the deceased, Mr. Markus Jagaba, 44, in his statement, said his late wife took permission from him to attend a wedding at Jakandangiwa village in Bauchi State.

Jagaba said he allowed her to go because it was a family occasion and he did not suspect that she was going to meet another man.

“My wife told me she was going to attend a family occasion at Jakandangiwa village in Bauchi State. I did not argue with her. I simply allowed to go because I didn’t know she had other plans.

“I became worried when she did not return home after the wedding and did not respond to my phone calls. I called her family members and was shocked to learn that she was not at the wedding.

“When we did not see her after searching everywhere, my family and I reported the matter to the Police, after which I was called by the Police, some days later, to come over and identify the corpse which I confirmed to be my wife’s.’’

Elder brother to the suspect, Mr. Yakuba Saya, told NAN that no one in the family knew that he (suspect), was dating a married woman until the Police stormed their house to make the arrest.

“I was at home when the Police barged in to arrest my brother. When they could not find him, they arrested me,’’ he said; adding that his brother (the suspect) confessed to him that he actually dumped the body of his lover on the roadside.

“He told me he actually dumped the body of the woman on the roadside, but he insisted that he was not behind her death.’’

NAN reports that the Police have charged the suspect to court on  three counts of adultery, culpable homicide and failure to give notice/information to a public servant.

Saya is to be arraigned on Monday, April 1, before Justice Daniel Longji of the Plateau State High Court sitting in Jos.

Suspect, Peter Nielsen and victims, wife and daughter, Zainab Ali-Nielsen and Petra Nielsen

Afeez Hanafi

A Nigerian artiste, Zainab Ali-Nielsen, popularly known as Alizee, and her four-year-old daughter, Petra, have been reportedly murdered by her Italian husband, Peter Nielsen.

They were allegedly murdered in the family’s residence at Ocean Parade, Banana Island in the early hours of Thursday.

Although details of the circumstances surrounding the incident were still sketchy, our correspondent learnt that Peter had been picked up by the police.

The corpses were said to have been deposited in a mortuary for autopsy.

The report said the native of Kogi State had signed a two-year record deal with an Asian record label, Petra Entertainment in 2017, which reportedly earned her a brand new Ford Explorer, a house on Banana Island and international distribution with affiliates of her record company in Asia.

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Chike Oti, who confirmed the arrest of the suspect for murder, said a crime scene investigative team had been deployed in the house.

He said, “The state Commissioner of Police, Edgal Imohimi, has ordered the arrest of the suspect and he is in police custody. It is pre-emptive now to ascertain the cause of the incident. The CP has dispatched crime scene investigators to the place to pick pieces of evidence for analysis which can be used for prosecution.

“The command has also written the Embassy of the suspect that the police are investigating the case.”   (Punch)

Pastor Allegedly Kills, Dismembers Lover, Buries Body In Church |RN

Nigerian-police

The Ogun Police Command on Tuesday arrested a pastor who allegedly killed his female lover and buried her body inside his church.

Parading the suspect at the scene of the crime, the Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, said the command had received a report of a missing person at the Divisional Headquarters in Ewekoro.

The commissioner said that the case was reported by one Adebola Saheed, who stated that his younger sister, Mrs Raliat Sanni, 35, had left home since March 21 and had yet to return.

Iliyasu said on the strength of the report, police operatives at Ewekoro Division led by SP Oluwarotimi Jeje, the Divisional Police Officer, swung into action and embarked on an investigation.

He said the pastor, upon discreet analysis of facts, was the last person who was seen with the missing person.

“The so-called Pastor was promptly arrested and thoroughly interrogated.

“In the course of interrogation, the pastor confessed to killing the victim and burying her inside his church after removing her head and two hands for reasons only known to him and God,’’ he said.

The police commissioner said the suspect named another accomplice who was also paraded.

“This is the height of wickedness that can be meted out to a fellow human being. It will interest you to know that the victim was a  secret lover of the pastor who eventually hacked her to death, ” he said.

He said that forensic investigation into the case had commenced and the matter would eventually be charged to court.

“This is another breakthrough resulting from painstaking technical intelligence investigation aimed at wiping out crime in our society as well as bringing to justice those who are adamant in making crime their business.

“I appeal to the people to be always watchful of those they associate with and always disclose their movements to at least one person close to them no matter how confidential the movement in order to prevent an occurrence of this type of dastardly act, ” he said.

Speaking to journalists, the suspect said that he was not the one that killed the victim, alleging that it was his accomplice who carried out the act and later cut off her head and two hands.

The suspect, a teacher at Methodist High School, Arigbajo, Ogun State said that he was forced by the accomplice to join his cult group.

He revealed that the victim was killed in the process of his initiation as a member of the cult group.

The alleged accomplice, however, denied having anything to do with the pastor, saying that the last time he saw him was last year.

Man Kills Four Children, Sister-in-law And Himself Over Paternity Issue |RN

By Pamela Eboh

A father, Mr Stephen Nnadiogo, at the weekend stabbed to death his four children, sister-in-law before taking his own life. The incident occurred at No. 21b, Ntueke Street, Awada Obosi in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State.

The children were aged two, six, eight and 10 years old. It was learnt that there has been a running battle in Nnadiogo’s home over his wife’s alleged infidelity and the paternity of the four children. Nnadiogo’s wife, Chika, who owns a patent store, it was learnt, had always used the issue to abuse her husband each time they quarrelled.

A neighbour, who pleaded anonymity, said that each time the couple quarrelled, the woman would tell Nnadiogo that he was claiming to be a man while he could not impregnate her and that he was not the biological father of their four children. In response, Nnadiogo would call her a whore who could not stay with one man. However, the man struck at the weekend when the woman went to her medicine store and left their four children with her husband and sister. In an apparent bid to carry out the evil plan, Nnadiogo sent the housemaid on an errand and then picked up a knife and started stabbing the children as well as his sister in- law until they died.

Satisfied that they were dead, Nnadiogo went and hid in one of the rooms in the flat of a four-storey building where they lived and took his own life by reportedly drinking poison. But when the maid returned, she found the four children and the sister-in-law in a pool of blood.

Petrified, she screamed and ran out to tell her madam at the medicine store that her children had been murdered. Chika ran to the police station to file a report. When contacted yesterday, the Awada Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Mr Martin Mbajunwa, confirmed the incident.

The DPO said their bodies had been deposited in the morgue. He added that investigation into the matter was ongoing. However, it was learnt that Nnadiogo, who returned from overseas a few years ago to settle in Nigeria, had been having a mental challenge. The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Nkiru Nwode, confirmed the incident in a telephone interview.

She said Nnadiogo just returned from Arochukwu in Imo State where he went to for treatment for mental illness. Nwode said that some unidentified substances were discovered where his body was found but an autopsy was needed to ascertain the cause of death. She said: “The incident happened.

The man had mental issues and he just returned from Arochukwu where he went for treatment a few days ago before he committed the crime. “Some unidentified substances were found around where his body was found but we cannot ascertain the cause of his death until an autopsy is concluded.”   (New Telegraph)

Nanny Cuts Off Baby’s Hand Allowes Her To Bleed To Death Because Baby’s Parents Maltreated Her

Nanny-who-killed-baby

The evil nanny and her baby victim

By Ike A. Offor

This is another horrendous news that makes one cringe with disgust and upsetting or churning stomach.

A house girl or housemaid killed her host family baby girl by chopping off the left hand of the less-than-a-year-old baby girl while her boss left home for an errand.

The reasons given by this nanny would blow the mind of anyone. According to the nanny, she was maltreated by her boss and that got her very furious and caused her to let out her fury on the barely one-year-old baby girl.

Parents must evaluate the way they take care of their children using babysitters and housemaids or whatever name they are called.  More incredible stories are emerging everyday that warrant re-evaluation of childcare by maids or nannies by their hosts or parents of the children they are meant to take care of.

The most excruciating trauma for anyone with sense of perception is the feeling of the horrendous pain and suffering this little angel went through before her untimely death in the hand of this evil nanny.

It is most painful to imagine how this little baby girl suffered reeling in pain and screams while she bled to death.

The question also is, how come no neighbour heard the unusual cry or scream of this little girl before she bled to death? Did he neighbours also ignored it as one of those usual baby screams or cry that are sometimes of no serious cause?

The world is getting scarier by the day and parents must be very cautious and re-evaluate the method through which they employ housemaids, nannies or whatever name they go by.

May the soul of this little angel rest in peace and the proper punishment doled out to the evil nanny.

Lagos Baale Crushes Wife To Death With Jeep |The Republican News

Lagos-Baale-crushes-wife

Afeez Hanafi

A traditional ruler in Ise Town, Ibeju Lekki, Lagos State, Taibu Ogunbanjo, is currently cooling his heels in police custody for allegedly crushing his wife to death.

The baale runs a block-moulding factory at Folu, a community in Ibeju Lekki.

PUNCH Metro learnt that Taibu and his wife, Rotimi Ogunbanjo, got married three years ago, but the marriage had been fraught with misunderstanding and fights.

On Thursday, December 7, 2017, the couple reportedly had a disagreement. After the altercation, Rotimi was said to have gone to the baale’s factory and damaged some blocks on the premises.

Taibu reportedly entered his Toyota Highlander, and was driving out of the premises in anger when he knocked down his wife.

A community leader, who identified himself simply as Akinsipe, said the wife died on the spot, adding that the corpse had been deposited at the Epe General Hospital.

He said, “He (Taibu) is the baale of the community. He and his wife had been having issues since they got married. I did not know what actually happened between them on that day, but I learnt that they had a disagreement in the morning.

“She went to his block factory and destroyed some blocks arranged on the premises. He entered his vehicle angrily and as he was driving out of the premises, the wife tried to stop him. He hit her and she died on the spot.”

Akinsipe stated that the matter was reported at the Akodo Police Station, adding that the baale had been arrested.

A police source told our correspondent that the suspect’s family reported at the police station that the death resulted from an accident.

The source said, “The baale and the woman got married three years ago without a child and they had been having disagreements. On that particular day, she destroyed some blocks at the industry. The man became angry and as he was driving out, he crushed her with his vehicle on the factory premises.

“The relations of the suspect have said that it was a case of an accident. But looking at the circumstances surrounding the incident, the accident claim is untenable.

“He could not have lost control of the vehicle on the premises as a result of speeding. There is a limit to the speed the car can go on the premises.”

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Chike Oti, who confirmed Rotimi’s death, said the command would investigate the matter to unravel the motive behind the baale’s action.

He said, “We are investigating the matter to find out what transpired between the man and his wife before the incident happened. They were having family issues, which led the woman to the block industry to destroy things.

“We want to know whether what the man did was a reaction to what his wife did. We believe there is more to the ‘accident’ than meets the eye because there was an altercation between them before the incident occured.”

The PPRO added that the case had been transferred to the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Yaba.  (Punch)

Lagos Banker Allegedly Tortures, Poisons Wife To Death |The Republican News

Lagos-Banker-And-Wife
                                           Olaoluwa and his wife, Maureen

Samson Folarin

A bank worker, Olaoluwa Adejo, has been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command for the death of his 28-year-old wife, Maureen, at their home on Peluola Street, Oworonshoki, in the Bariga  area of the state.

The 32-year-old Lagos indigene was alleged to have tortured his wife of five years with a belt, as well as cutting her with a machete.

Their five-year-old son, Richard, in whose presence the incident reportedly happened, told PUNCH Metro that his father also forced a local insecticide, otapiapia, down the throat of his mother.

I am Richard Adejo. I am five years old. My daddy beat my mummy with a belt; machete her here (shows arms), machete her here (shows legs). He used the belt on her here (points at face); forced my mummy to drink otapiapia (insecticide). My daddy took my mummy away.

“My daddy said my mummy should get out of the house. My mummy said no. In the night, my daddy woke my mummy up and said, ‘Mosquito is too much, let me go and buy otapiapia’. My daddy forced my mummy to drink it. She shook her head. She vomited.

“My daddy slapped my mummy. My mummy did not do anything to him. My daddy gave her one blow. My daddy kicked her. My daddy told her to get out of the house and carry her load. Small blood came out. My daddy slapped her, kicked her, machete her, blow her, and put otapiapia in her mouth and in the food,” Richard told our correspondent during an interview on Monday.

The victim’s mother, Mrs. Kate Jonathan, told PUNCH Metro that Richard had given more graphic details of the incident to family members, police authorities and officials of the Lagos State Ministry of Justice.

She explained that her daughter had packed out of her matrimonial house five days to the incident and was living with her when she decided to return for a party at the children’s school. She said she never returned alive.

She said, “I was called on the telephone by an unknown number around 4pm on Sunday, November 12. The caller said, ‘Your daughter’s husband has killed her at Oworo’. He dropped the call.

“Around 5pm when I got to their house, I discovered that the house was locked up. There were two boys guarding the house and they refused to open the door to me, saying the owner of the house instructed them not to open the door.

“I didn’t see my daughter or her husband. I was begging them to open the door when I saw Richard jumping up through the window. He saw me and asked the boys to open the door, but they refused.

“I broke the louvers of the window. The boy climbed a stool and said from inside, ‘my father has killed my mother and taken her away.’”

She said she reported the case at the Oworonshoki Police Station, where she was told that the suspect had already reported that his wife committed suicide by taking local insecticide, Sniper.

Jonathan said after making her statement, she left the station.

PUNCH Metro was told that Olaoluwa had already deposited the body of his wife in the Gbagada General Hospital mortuary and had allegedly gone to obtain court documents to enable him to bury her.

Our correspondent learnt that he was asked to return to the police station for a certain document, which led to his arrest based on his mother-in-law’s complaint.

The suspect was said to have been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Yaba.

However, the couple’s three children were said to have been taken to a family friend, a policeman, who lived in Agric, in the Ikorodu area.

Due to the insistence of the mother-in-law, the police were said to have demanded the release of the couple’s first child, Richard, for interrogation.

In a meeting at the SCIID, Yaba, Richard was alleged to have given an account of how his mother was allegedly murdered by his father.

The police reportedly ordered the removal of the corpse from the Gbagada General Hospital mortuary to the morgue of the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja.

The victim’s mother, Jonathan, who claimed to have visited the mortuary, said Maureen’s body had machete cuts and other torture marks.

She said, “My daughter, who worked as the manager of my chemical company had, about a week to the incident, complained that her husband said we would soon see her obituary.

“I sent my eldest daughter to accompany her to the house to know what happened. The man  begged and said he was only joking. He said he really loved his wife. I insisted that she pack out of the house.

“She was in my house for three days before she said she wanted to return home because her children’s school would be having a cultural party. She left and went to the party with her husband on Saturday. It was that night that she was brutalised and killed by the husband. From what we saw in the mortuary, she had blood in her nostrils and deep cuts in her hands and legs.”

The victim’s mother asked that Maureen’s three children, namely, Richard, five; Henry, three; and Omowunmi, six months, be released to her.

The policeman with the couple’s two children, Ajisafe, said he believed Olaoluwa did not kill his wife.

He explained that the suspect’s aged mother handed over the children to him for safekeeping.

The 83-year-old mother of the suspect, Florence Adejo, also denied that her son murdered Maureen.

She said, “He came to knock on the door of my house late that night. He fell on the ground and started weeping and lamenting that his wife had destroyed him. A crowd gathered in front of the house where I am the landlady. They tried to console him. He said his wife took Sniper. He said he thought it was a joke until their son, Richard, went to bring the container of the insecticide.

“She was taken to a private hospital where she was initially rejected before she was taken to the general hospital where she died. I was told her mother sells the insecticide and she brought it home for mosquitoes. Why she decided to drink it is what is beyond my understanding. My son said they didn’t have any disagreement between them and she was not mentally ill.”

The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Chike Oti, said investigations were ongoing into the incident.

He said, “The man came to report that his wife committed suicide. The DPO put some questions to him. We thought we should investigate further to know what really happened because there are some doubts we need to clear in the matter. The police are not accepting the claim of suicide hook, line, and sinker. The matter is at the SCIID and investigations are ongoing.”    (Punch)
