RCCG General Overseer, Enoch Adeboye’s Prophecies For 2021 |The Republican News

Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has released prophecies for 2021.

Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), released prophecies for the year 2021 covering both national and international issues. He also prophesied for unmarried members of his church telling those who are unmarried that 2021 is their year for marriage.

He also said that a new variant of Covid-19 awaits every discovered vaccine, says Adeboye.

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, on Friday, said some of the events of the Year 2020 will recur in the New Year 2021.

He stated this in his ‘Prophecies for 2021’ released about 3am on Friday shortly after the church’s virtual crossover service held from 9pm on Thursday to about 1am on Friday.

Adeboye said on the international scene, “Some of the things that happened in 2020 will spill over into 2021.

“That for every vaccine discovered, there is already a variant in the making. This will continue until the high and mighty admit that safety is of the Lord. Proverbs 21:31.

“God says He will begin to deal with nations on individual basis so that in any nation, if God’s people will humble themselves and pray, He will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14.”

Adeboye had earlier in his prophecies for the Year 2020 said the year would behave like a child in convulsion.

California Nurse Contracts COVID-19 Days After Vaccination —Report |The Republican News

By Segun Adewole

An ER Nurse in California has tested positive for COVID-19 just days after he got vaccinated against the virus.

Mathew W. got vaccinated on December 18 and immediately took to Instagram where he shared a picture of the certificate he got after taking the vaccine.

“Got my Covid vaccine! The 15 minutes afterward sitting around with a bunch of others while health care workers asked us how we felt made me think of an opium den. I’ll report back if I start to grow a third arm,” he captioned the picture.

Days later, on Christmas eve, Mathew became sick with muscle aches, chills and fatigue after he had worked a shift at a COVID-19 unit after the vaccination.

He went for a test for COVID-19 on December 26 and the result came back positive, Daily Mail reports.

Dr Christian Ramers, an infectious disease specialist with Family Health Centers of San Diego, said such is not unexpected at all.

“We know from the vaccine clinical trials that it’s going to take about 10 to 14 days for you to start to develop protection from the vaccine,” Ramers said.

“That first dose we think gives you somewhere around 50%, and you need that second dose to get up to 95 per cent.”

He advised those who have been vaccinated to continue to follow protection protocols against the virus without letting their guard down.

“You hear heath practitioners being very optimistic about it being the beginning of the end, but it’s going to be a slow roll, weeks to months as we roll out the vaccine,” the specialist said. (Punch)

We Still Don’t Understand Why COVID-19 Numbers Are Not High As We Expected In Africa —Bill Gates

Bill Gates

Bill Gates, a co-chair of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF), says the world still does not have enough data to understand why COVID-19 numbers have not been as high as predicted in Africa.

The American philanthropist who invests heavily in healthcare in Africa said he is, however, happy to have been wrong about COVID-19 rates in Africa.

“One thing I’m happy to have been wrong about—at least, I hope I was wrong—is my fear that COVID-19 would run rampant in low-income countries,” he wrote in his end of the year note.

“So far, this hasn’t been true. In most of sub-Saharan Africa, for example, case rates and death rates remain much lower than in the U.S. or Europe and on par with New Zealand, which has received so much attention for its handling of the virus.

“The hardest-hit country on the continent is South Africa—but even there, the case rate is 40 percent lower than in the U.S., and the death rate is nearly 50 percent lower.”

According to Gates, “more than 1.6 million people have died in the COVID-19 pandemic, with more than 75 million cases and tens of trillions of dollars in economic damages”.

The US has been the hardest-hit country in the world — while South Africa, the continent’s most industrialised nation, has been the most affected in Africa.

Bill Gates had warned early 2020 that Africa could be the worse hit by COVID-19, stating at a conference that the virus would overwhelm health systems in the world’s poorest continent.

Melinda Gates, also a co-chair at BMGF, said the developing world will be hard-hit, she added that she foresees bodies lying aroundin the street of African countries.

But this has not been the case –and the world does not understand why.

WE STILL DON’T UNDERSTAND WHY

Bill Gates said, “we don’t have enough data yet to understand why the numbers aren’t as high as I worried they would get” — but gave probable reasons Africa was not as affected as expected.

“It helped that some countries locked down early. In Africa, another reason may be that the population is young compared with the rest of the world’s, and young people are less susceptible to the virus.

“Another reason could be that its large rural population spends a lot of time outside, where it’s harder to spread the virus. It is also possible—though I hope this is not the case—that the true numbers are higher than they look because gaps in poor countries’ health care systems are making it hard to monitor the disease accurately.”

Gates said one of his fears that have been justified is that “COVID-19 is having a ripple effect with other diseases. Last month, I was surprised to learn that it was only the 31stmost common cause of death in Africa. By comparison, it has ranked number four around the world, and number one in America.”

“Why does it rank so low in Africa? It’s not just the relatively low incidence of COVID-19 there. It’s also because shifting health workers to focus on the coronavirus disrupted efforts to detect and treat HIV/AIDS, malaria, tuberculosis, and other diseases. As a result, COVID-19 stayed low on the list of health threats, but other problems came roaring back.

“Another reason is that patients are more reluctant to go to clinics for fear they might become infected—and that means more severe conditions are going undiagnosed. In India, for example, the diagnosis rate for tuberculosis has dropped by roughly a third. With more undetected cases, more people will probably die from the disease.

“This is another reason why the world’s goal should be to make sure that lifesaving tools reach—and are practical for—every country, not just rich ones.”

Gates said 2020 has been a year of scientific advances and failures, “but there is good news coming in 2021”.

JUST IN: Sanwo-Olu Tests Positive For COVID-19 |The Republican News

Lagos state governor, Jide Sanwo-Olu

The Lagos state government has confirmed that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has contracted coronavirus.

The state Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi confirmed this in a statement Saturday.

According to him, ‘following Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s exposure to a confirmed case of COVID-19, a PCR test performed yesterday, the 11th of December, has confirmed that he has indeed been infected with the virus, which is supported by mild symptoms and fatigue typical of a mild case of COVID.”

Abayomi said that the Governor had started receiving treatment and was being closely monitored at home by the very experienced State COVID-19 clinical team from IDH Yaba.

The statement read:

“Mr. Sanwo-Olu is doing well on treatment and rest and we are confident that he will recover quickly and clear the virus. We are seeing slightly increasing number of COVID-19 positive cases in clusters in Lagos and all residents and visitors should strictly adhere to the prescribed advisories of safe distancing, mask-wearing, good hand and respiratory hygiene and avoidance of unnecessary or large gatherings.

“The festive season is likely to create the opportunity for the virus to spread if we are not compliant with the regulations established by the Presidential Task Force (PTF) for inbound travellers and the festive season celebrations. All inbound travellers must be COVID-19 negative by PCR before they board a flight to Nigeria and must self-isolate on arrival and undergo a pre-booked test on Day Seven of arrival in Nigeria.

“Lagosians should keep celebrations to a minimum and be observant and responsible in their interactions. The significant gains achieved to date in containing COVID-19 in Lagos, which has allowed us to carefully reopen the economy, must not be reversed.

“No one is immune to this virus and it is certainly still circulating in the community.

“Please join me in praying and wishing the Incident Commander of the Lagos State COVID-19 response, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, a speedy recovery so he can return to normal duties as soon as possible.

“I will be keeping the public informed regularly of Mr. Governor’s recovery and wellbeing.”
