LagosGuber: Setting Lagos Free From Bourdillon Bondage – Free Lagos Orange Movement

The task by the Free Lagos Orange Movement to liberate Lagos from what they called Bourdillon bondage is a very serious one than many may comprehend. Bourdillon referring to the street name and address of APC national leader, Chief Bola Tinubu, a man mnay see as holding the entire Lagos state on bondage.

The movement is galvanised to rescue Lagos from his clutch and making it impossible for Tinubu to lord it over who rules, or governs Lagos state, in a classic case he did to the present governor, Akinwunmi Ambode.

The press statement is as seen below:

WORLD PRESS CONFERENCE OF THE FREE LAGOS ORANGE MOVEMENT HELD TODAY.

Theme: SETTING LAGOS FREE FROM BOURDILLON BONDAGE
Conveners: Mr Olisa Agbakoba SAN, Mr Yinka Odumakin, Comrade Mark Adebayo

Gentlemen of the Press, you will recall that we invited you last week Thursday on the activities of #FreeLagosMovement. You will also recall that policemen came to disrupt the press conference. Today, we are here to make further clarifications on some of the issues we raised. First, the issue of police permission for rally has been settled by the Supreme Court that you don’t need police permit for political gathering, what is more, what we planned to do was a press conference and not a rally. The Commissioner of Police should not engage in any act that will compromise professionalism in its operation. We want to implore the Security agencies to maintain its neutrality before, during and after the election
It is instructive to note that OTOGE was okay when it was done in Kwara, Ogun, Imo because the promoters in the aforementioned states were members of the All Progressives Congress. We implore the police to be professional and stop taking side.

Second, where is the 1.8m APC members that voted for PMB in Lagos during the primaries? How many votes were recorded for the APC presidential candidate on February 23 during the presidential and National Assembly election? These are issues to be interrogated as we go into the governorship election this Saturday in order to avoid rigging. Tinubu, who was made the co-chairman of President Muhammadu Buhari campaign council promised to deliver 3m votes for its presidential candidate and cumulatively, the total votes cast was less than 1.2m. We urge Lagosians to shine their eyes so as not to be short-changed. Tinubu is now more desperate to rig the election and has given all the party members in the council and the state executive council a marching order to ensure that his candidate, Babajide Sanwoolu emerges against all odds come Saturday. We need to be vigilant so that these desperados do not endangered our nascent democracy through their brigandage and acts inimical to free, fair and peaceful election.

Thirdly, those who claimed Bola Tinubu is a democrat, what is democratic about one man deciding who gets what in Lagos? With the obscene pension that he appropriated for himself that his successor, Babatunde Fashola was ashamed of and rejected. Tinubu has become a conduit pipe siphoning the resources of the state through amorphous organizations. From HITECH CONSTRUCTION to ALPHA-BETTA CONSULTING, Lagos has never witnessed such primitive accumulation and financial plundering of her resources since it became a colony.

He has cornered everything for himself and family. Apart from the wife, Senator Oluremi, his in-law, Lola Akande, his nephew, Adedamola Kasumu and his daughter, Sade Ojo-Tinubu that were positioned, his son, Seyi, who is not a member of APCON has just cornered N3BN Outdoor Advertising using the Lagos State Signage Agency, LAASA as a cover. Outdoor Advertising in the state has been compromised by subverting the constitution; same with Land Use Charge all making local government councils weak and ineffective. We also want Lagosians to know that 15% of every tax collected across the state goes to ALPHA-BETTA CONSULTING while the Lagos Internal Revenue that was empowered by the law does not get such ‘outrageous commission’. Even when the former managing director of the ALPHA-BETTA CONSULTING sent a strongly worded petition to the EFCC with evidence, we are yet to hear what the anti-graft commission has done to stem this brazen fraud and rape on the state being perpetrated before our eyes. And you heard his response to the bullion vans that were found in his house on the eve of the election. We didn’t know when his house has become a bank. This has further shown his penchant for his corrupt tendencies.

All these impunity and act of being ‘above the law’ being perpetrated by Tinubu has further reinforced our determination to put an end to his brigandage. As we leave this venue of the press conference, all our local government chapter of OTOGE LAGOS have been fully mobilized to continue the house to house campaign to rid the state of TInubu and his agents who have taken more than enough from our patrimony. What we are doing is for posterity, bearing in mind that all it takes the evils to triumph is for people of goodwill to fold the arms and do nothing.

We are appealing to all Lagosians that come Saturday, March 09 , 2019, they should use their PVCs and vote wisely to end the era of the overbearing godfather (Tinubu) whose godson, Babajide Sanwoolu has even confessed in one of his media interactions that he is tied to the apron string of Tinubu and that he will be economical with the truth if he says , he won’t defer to Tinubu on all issues.
We also want to inform the gentlemen of the press that despite the fact that the APC constitution has no provision for disclaimer, some of the officers of the Party have continue to act in a way inimical to party cohesion and consensus. It is purely an impunity and abuse of process to issue a disclaimer on Senator Tokunbo AFIKUYOMI who has stated clearly on the New Year Day that he would function as Independent Service Provider which was widely reported by the media.

Joe Igbokwe’s penchant for fake news is legendary. You will recall that on several occasions he has been found wanting. Shortly after the minister of information and culture launched the campaign against the fake news, Joe Igbokwe was the first culprit when he made a false claim that President Muhammadu Buhari has replaced his Chief Security Officer, Bashir Abubakar with an Igbo Officer ACP, Obinna Chukwuka in an attempt to portray Mr. President as detribalised Nigerian. It was discovered as a brazen lie. He didn’t stop there, when the news of non-participation in NYSC scheme of former Finance Minister Kemi Adeosun was published by Premium Times, Igbokwe was at it again spewing lies with photo shopped image of Kemi Adeosun in NYSC fatigue with the caption,” Wailers will you keep quiet!”. On December 8, 2018, Igbokwe posted a picture purportedly taken at APC rally in Kano, but unfortunately for Igbokwe, President Buhari couldn’t visit Kano and his lies were exposed. Besides, Igbokwe is a double agent, while canvassing for Bola Tinubu’s presidency in 2023, he is also doing same in the south east for 2023. The question is; If this is the character of APC spokesperson in Lagos, what do you expect from such Party other than impunity and all manner of shenanigans? Igbokwe’s penchant for lies and unfounded allegations is responsible for why people have decided to dump the APC. This is the finest hour to embrace liberty and justify our right to choose without rule of force or intimidation by one man and Yes Men, Women and Boot Lickers.

Finally, the Igbos should not be deceived by the endorsement procured by the APC. The National President of Ohanaese Ndigbo worldwide, Chief John Nnia Nwodo, has issued a disclaimer that its members will not vote for the APC because of its anti-people’s programmes. They should vote for candidate of their choice come Saturday, March 09, 2019. This is a clarion call to all and sundry that this is the best opportunity to liberate ourselves from the iron grip and oppressive regime of Bourdillon that has held the state down for 20 years. Enough is enough!
On March 09, with your PVCs vote for Freedom, Justice, Peace and Development.

Vote to liberate yourselves.
Lagos and Lagosians shall be free.
It’s our collective responsibility. Let’s do it again.
Thank you all.

If APC Is Voted Out In This Election, I Will Accept It – Tinubu |The Republican News

                                           Bola Ahmed Tinubu

The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, has said that he would accept the result of the presidential election even if it did not go the way of the party.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Tinubu spoke with journalists after voting at Polling Unit 047, Ward 3, Ikeja at 11:20 a.m.

He said that the will of the electorate must be respected, adding that as a true democrat, free and fair elections must be protected.

Tinubu was, however, upbeat about his party’s chances of winning the elections.

“If my party is voted out in this election, I will accept it because it is the people’s verdict, that is their decision. Any democrat that cannot accept a result from a free and fair election is not worthy of that name.

“As a true democrat, you must be able to accept the results of a free and fair election.

“My hope and determination of my party are that we are winning this election because we have the support of the masses and if you look at our rallies, it is an indication of our party’s popularity.

“We are not talking about the elites or those that are rich, but the poor masses, farmers, traders, artisans and the common man who seek for continuity,” he said.

Tinubu, however, rated the conduct of the elections as successful so far, adding that though elections were expensive, yet it remained the best way of choosing leaders.

“The election has been successful so far, so good. It has demonstrated the resilience of the people and like the President has said; we have chosen the best way in a difficult way.

“Democracy is the toughest way of selecting a leader but the best system. With the resilience of the people and strong determination we are getting there,” Tinubu said.(NAN)

Obasanjo Playing Politics With His Letter To Buhari, Says Tinubu |The Republican News

Tinubu-and-Buhari

File photo: APC Chieftain, Bola Tinubu shaking hands with President Muhammadu Buhari

Gibson Achonu, Owerri

The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Senator Bola Tinubu, has said ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo was playing politics with the open letter he wrote to President Muhammadu Buhari recently.

He said if Obasanjo had meant well, he would have met with Buhari to talk about the issues he raised in the letter.

Tinubu spoke in an interview with journalists when he visited Governor Rochas Okorocha in company with the pioneer National Chairman of APC, Chief Bisi Akande, at the Government House Owerri, on Friday.

Tinubu said, “They both had the same background. So, I believe that would have been the conversation of retired military heads of State.

“They have unfettered access to each other, either through the Council of State or via any other means. He could see the President privately.

“He (Obasanjo) was also his (Buhari) senior in the army. I think Obasanjo was playing politics with the public letter. That is all I see.

“They also met at the African Union meeting. He has a way of discussing with the President any time he wants.”

On the coalition, the APC leader said the time is not appropriate for a response to the coalition government which Obasanjo had started campaigning for.

On what brought him to Owerri, Tinubu said, “I am here to see a very good friend of mine, the governor, Owelle Okorocha, who happens to be the governor of APC state and then pay respect to the gentleman, nationalist, great leader of our generation.” (Punch)

President Buhari’s Return Is Nation’s Hope Fulfilled, Says Tinubu |RN

All Progressives Congress chieftain, Sen. Bola Tinubu, on Saturday urged Nigerians to remain united and support President Muhammadu Buhari as he pursues the progressive agenda for which he was elected, for a better nation.

Tinubu, in a statement entitled ‘President Buhari’s Return: A Nation’s Hope Fulfilled’ in Lagos, said just as Nigerians gathered to pray for the health and return of the president from a medical vacation abroad, they should remain supportive now that he is back.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Buhari left Nigeria on May 7 for the second round of his medical treatment in London and returned on Saturday.

Buhari, who arrived at 4:35 p.m., is expected to address the nation on Monday.

Tinubu said: ”Just as we gathered to pray for his health and his return, we must remain united in spirit to support President Buhari as he pursues the progressive agenda for which he was elected, and that promises us all a better day.

”Our nation is strong, but must overcome many challenges. We can do so with President Buhari at the helm and with the rest of the nation in active support.

”Thus, the president’s return is both real and symbolic.

”We all must renew our faith in our collective purpose and rededicate ourselves to a nation indivisible and united in reconstructing our political economy so that it provides a decent and good life to all our people.”

He described President Buhari as a man of moral fortitude, discipline, strength and dedication.

According to him, these attributes have helped him battle medical challenges.

”President Buhari”s return home is our prayers answered and these attributes which he possesses will lead him to success in surmounting our national challenges.

”President Buhari has demonstrated time and again his devotion to this nation and its great causes.

”His love for the country and the realisation that he has a mission to fulfil so that Nigeria may realise its better self by providing security and prosperity to all Nigerians has compelled him home, ”he said.

Tinubu said it was heartening to see that the nation had matured to the point where governance continued in a meaningful and seamless manner during the president’s absence.

He said it was a sign of the harmony between President Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.

”On this day, it is even more heartening to think of the things that can now be achieved with President Buhari back to lead the nation.

”Today is a glad and happy one for those who wish Nigeria well. While we celebrate the President’s return, we also must quickly turn to the hard and heavy work at hand.

”With President Buhari back and with the nation united behind him, we can accomplish excellent things. May we do our best to become our best.

”Welcome home Mr President. Welcome home, ” Tinubu said. (NAN)

PDP Will Not Win In Lagos, We have Learnt Our Lesson, Says Bola Tinubu

Image result for bola tinubu

APC National Chieftain, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu

Omotayo Yusuf

-Chief Bola Tinubu assured that the APC will do all it can to win all the local government elections in Lagos

– He said the PDP has no place in the state

– The APC chieftain said the party has learnt from his past mistakes

National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Sen. Bola Tinubu, on Wednesday said that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) would not record any win in the forthcoming council polls in Lagos State.

Tinubu, a former governor of the state, said this while addressing hundreds of party faithful at the Lagos State APC Stakeholders’ meeting at the party secretariat at Acme Road, Ikeja.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the stakeholders’ forum was held in preparation for the July 22 council polls.

Tinubu regretted the loss of some national and state legislative seats to the PDP in the 2015 general elections.

“2015 election was the greatest battle of our time. In the last election, we lost more than three LGAs to our opponents, which is very unusual.

“We have asked our leaders in those local governments to examine what went wrong and work together to chart a new course to ensure the APC wins back those councils.

“PDP cannot have any share in these council elections,” Tinubu said.

The national leader commended party faithful for their support to Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode’s administration, saying that the governor had not disappointed the party and the people.

“We are grateful to you the people for your great support during the 2015 election. We have continued to hold Lagos in spite of strong opposition.

“Gov. Ambode has not let us down; he is doing a fantastic job in an environment where we have the economic challenges. He is doing it and he is doing very very well.

“He has a very good team. He is doing a great job and we are very proud of that,” he said.

Tinubu urged party leaders at the grassroots to shun bribery and favouritism, adding that quality leadership and merit should be upheld.

“Our leaders should be fair to the people at the grassroots; we cannot please all, but we can satisfy the majority. This politics is give and take, compromise.

’’According to him, the party will not use any of the current sole administrators in the forthcoming council poll.

“To appease some people, we asked the government to allow the Executive Secretaries to take over after the tenure of last council chairmen expired, instead of civil servants.

“That was why executive secretaries were chosen to pave way for politicians.

“When the term expired, we used sole administrators, but before

we used them, we warned them that `

when the elective position comes, you are not entitled to contest’.

“We agreed that time, we cannot change it overnight; executive secretaries, however can contest.

” Tinubu, however, said 19 former council chairmen, except for one of them who is late, who only served single terms, would be given another chance in the coming elections.

He urged the party leaders to give consideration to youths and women in the sharing of positions.

The party leader also urged Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State to increase security presence in Surulere area of the state to check violence.

According to him, his attention was drawn to some violence in the area, which gave cause for concern.

”I urge the people of Surulere to be patient and peaceful. We will all benefit from the party,” he said.

Also speaking, Ambode urged all stakeholders to work together to ensure APC victory in all the 57 councils.

Ambode said: “We are meeting on a very happy note. I am able to look back and say that that confidence you reposed in me to defeat the PDP candidate was not in vain.

“This coming local government election is all in your hands. My call to all members of our great party is to ensure that all the 57 councils are won by APC. We have begun a journey to make Lagos and Nigeria progressive’’.

Earlier in his opening remark, Mr Henry Ajomale, the Chairman, Lagos APC, said that the forum was organised to allow party faithful to interact with the leaders of the party.

Ajomale said that meeting was aimed at moving the party forward ahead of the forthcoming council polls.

NAN reports that hundreds of party faithful and leaders across the 20 local government areas and 37 Local Council Development Areas were in attendance.

Saraki, Other APC Members Did Well To Block Tinubu’s VP Bid – Northern Elders

Image result for ahmed tinubu

Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki and APC National leader, Asiwaju  Bola Tinubu

ENIOLA AKINKUOTU, BAYO AKINLOYE, TOBI AWORINDE, and Godwin Isenyo

Some northern elders have said they supported Senate President, Bukola Saraki, and Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir el-Rufai’s staunch opposition to Asiwaju Bola Tinubu’s vice presidential ambition and a Muslim-Muslim ticket for the 2015 presidential poll.

Last week, Tinubu was reported to have stated that his moves to become President Muhammadu Buhari’s running mate were prevented by Saraki and el-Rufai.

Tinubu had in a book, ‘Against the Run of Play’, authored by the Chairman of ThisDay Editorial Board, Olusegun Adeniyi, accused the Senate President and other individuals of prevailing on Buhari not to pick him as the running mate for the 2015 election.

Speaking on Saturday, one of the northern elders, Rev. Bitrus Dangiwa, who is also a chieftain of the Northern Elders Forum, said he was one of those who threw their weight behind those who opposed Tinubu to become Buhari’s running mate.

The cleric, who was the Youth President, Christian Association of Nigeria in the 19 northern states and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, stated in an interview with journalists in Kaduna on Saturday that a Muslim-Muslim ticket would have worked against the All Progressives Congress.

Dangiwa described Tinubu as being “selfish” to have thought that a Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket would have worked for the party in 2015.

He went further to praise Saraki for ensuring that the Muslim-Muslim ticket as advocated by Tinubu did not work, arguing that a good percentage of the country’s Christian population would have been neglected.

“Tinubu’s thought of becoming (Nigeria’s) Vice President to a Muslim presidential candidate was not only self-centered or selfish, but it would have worked against the APC. We knew Tinubu’s move for a very long time – most northerners contributed to Saraki’s choice of working against a Muslim-Muslim ticket in the 2015 poll.

“So, Saraki’s decision not to have a Muslim-Muslim ticket was in the best interest of the socio-political development of the nation. There are still good Muslims and good Christians who mean well for this country, and Saraki is one of such good examples,” the NEF chieftain noted.

His views were corroborated by the National Leader of the Arewa Youth Consultative Forum, Yerima Shettima, who spoke to one of our correspondents on Saturday night.

Yerima told SUNDAY PUNCH that while the country looked forward to a time when religion and ethnic background would not be the determining factors in electing the president of the country, the 2015 presidential election would not have been won by the APC if the party had gone into the poll with a Muslim-Muslim ticket.

“There’s no way that Muslim-Muslim ticket could have worked with the current way the country is set up and with Tinubu who wanted to run with Buhari. The APC would have lost the election. While the youths of this country want a situation whereby religion, ethnicity, and language do not determine who govern the country, we are mindful of the fact that present realities wouldn’t have given victory to the APC if it had Muslims for its candidates (president and vice president). Everybody knows that Tinubu wasn’t an ideal person to be Buhari’s running mate.

“Making him Buhari’s running mate would have affected the party adversely. It is true that he has helped many people. He has been useful to many causes and people. But I am not sure anybody would have supported him as Buhari’s running mate. As he said during the week that Senate President Bukola Saraki and Governor Nasir el-Rufai blocked his chance of becoming Buhari’s running mate – that wasn’t a bad move because APC wouldn’t have won the election with a Muslim-Muslim ticket involving a Tinubu,” Shettima stated.

In a similar vein, a National Executive Council member of the Arewa Consultative Forum, Mohammed Abdulrahman, criticised Tinubu’s vice presidential aspiration, noting that a Muslim-Muslim ticket would have killed Buhari’s 2015 presidential bid.

He said, “There is no viability for any two people that are Muslims to steer the ship of peace and unity in Nigeria at the moment. Tinubu is a Christian most of the time. It is only when it is convenient for him that he is a Muslim. It is when it is convenient that he becomes Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“He is what we call ‘Christ-Mus.’ He is a ceremonial religious person. But they (APC) would never have made it (with him and Buhari for the 2015 presidential poll). That will not push Nigeria forward.”

Speaking on the issue, another northern elder, the National President of Arewa Youth Forum, Gambo Ibrahim Gujungu, commended Saraki for promoting peaceful coexistence among Nigerians and for truncating the Muslim-Muslim ticket proposed by Tinubu during the 2015 presidential poll.

He argued that a Muslim-Muslim arrangement would not have given the APC the winning ticket in the last presidential election and would not have yielded any positive result in future elections.

“The Muslim-Muslim ticket will only cause a crisis in the country. Nigeria is not ripe for a Muslim-Muslim ticket for the nation’s presidency because Nigerians now play politics of religion and ethnicity,” Gujungu stated.

He also said that he would not support a Muslim-Muslim ticket in future presidential races.

Asked why in 1993, Nigerians, particularly Christians, did not raise eyebrows at the MKO Abiola/Babagana Kingibe Muslim-Muslim ticket under the defunct Social Democratic Party, he pointed out that Nigerians then were not into the politics of religion and ethnicity.

According to him, the politics of religion and ethnicity became more pronounced particularly after former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s administration.

Gujungu said it was no longer possible to field two candidates of the same religious orientation in the country.

Weighing in on the issue, a former spokesman for the ACF, Anthony Sani, said he did not support a Muslim-Muslim ticket because of the present “atmosphere of mistrust and suspicion which tends to promote cleavages of the nation along ethnic and religious lines.”

Sani told SUNDAY PUNCH, “When there were mutual confidence and social contract among groups in Nigeria in the past, it was possible for SDP to field Abiola and Kingibe, who were both Muslims, and it came to pass but for the annulment.

“I would not have supported not only a Muslim-Muslim ticket but also a Christian-Christian ticket until such a time mutual trust and social contract among groups would have been restored in the polity.

“The duo (Saraki and el-Rufai) advised against such tickets due to prevailing circumstances. And Tinubu himself accepted the advice without any demur. And that explains why he gladly nominated Prof. Osinbajo to be the running mate to Buhari.”

Reacting to accusations that Tinubu was self-serving in wanting to be Buhari’s running mate, the senator representing Oyo South Senatorial District, Adesoji Akanbi, told one of our correspondents that it did not matter what people said about the APC chieftain, noting that their actions and reactions were that of envy.

“It is jealousy – Asiwaju Tinubu is a man well-loved nationwide. He is not a sectional or religious leader. He warmly embraces all religions in the spirit of love and peace. He is the only member with fantastic influence across the country. Most of the other leaders in the party cannot boast of the influence Asiwaju wields. Let people say what they want to say.

“Those railing against Asiwaju Tinubu want to rewrite history. Can they achieve that? No. It is sheer jealousy to want to reduce Tinubu’s efforts to selfish acts – that’s incorrect. The APC would not have achieved any success without Tinubu in the 2015 presidential poll; there’s no doubt about that. Reasonable people will continue to praise whatever efforts and sacrifices that Asiwaju made. Remember what ex-President Goodluck Jonathan said about Tinubu that a man he feared most in the APC was Tinubu,” Akanbi stated.

Attempts by SUNDAY PUNCH to get a response from Tinubu’s media aide, Mr. Tunde Rahman, did not yield the desired results. Repeated calls to his mobile telephone were neither picked nor returned as at 9:57 pm.

A response to a text message sent to him on the subject was still being expected as of the time of filing this report.   (Punchng.com)
