The last is yet to be heard of the travails of the suspended commander of the Intelligence Response Team (IRT) of the Nigerian Police, Abba Kyari.
This is because Kyari has been declared wanted by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
The NDLEA said Kyari had compromised while heading the Force Intelligence Response Team.
NDLEA spokesman Femi Babafemi in a media briefing in Abuja on Monday, accused the suspended officer of being an active member of a drug cartel, with a video presented to journalists.
The NDLEA has therefore declared him wanted for illicit drug trafficking, saying Kyari repeatedly declined to honour invitations by the narcotic agency.
This declaration is coming a few days after the Police Service Commission ordered the Inspector General of Police to carry out a fresh investigation into Kyari’s links with internet fraudster Ramon Abbas who is awaiting sentencing in a U.S. court.
Kyari was earlier indicted by the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI), which submitted evidence before a court alleging that the ‘super cop’ was using his position as an enforcer for the criminal activities of Hushpuppi.
