Plateau: Suspected Fulani Herdsmen Kill Seven |The Republican News

No fewer than seven persons were ambushed and killed on Wednesday night by suspected Fulani herdsmen in Bokkos and and Bassa Local Government Areas of Plateau State.

Daily Sun gathered that the herdsmen launched a midnight attacked at Josho village of Daffo Chiefdom of Bokkos Local Government Area, where four persons were killed while 10 others sustained fatal injuries.

It was learnt that several houses were also set ablaze with foodstuffs and properties worth million of naira by the suspected fleeing herdsmen.

Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO) ASP Tyopev Matthias Terna confirmed that three persons were killed in Bokkos Local Government Area on Wednesday night by suspected gunmen.

He added that three persons were ambushed and killed also on Monday night by suspected herdsmen in Bassa Local Government Area while one Samson Sunday who escaped the attacked was inflicted with gun shots injuries.

He said troops have been  redeployed to the trouble spots to calm the affected community while investigation has commenced to unravel those behind the fresh killings.

ASP Terna said security meeting is ongoing with community leaders and traditional rulers to prevent the escalation of the gory killings across the state.

He called on residents of Plateau state to go about the lawful activities and report any suspicious movement in their respective communities to security agencies for prompt action.  (The Sun)
