The Federal government releases an exact date and time for the closure of Nnamdi Azikiwe International, Abuja.
An information on its Tweeter handle says that the airport will be closed today, Tuesday 7 March, 2017 at exactly 11:59pm for a period of six weeks.
There has been series of senate panel hearings on this very project for some months now and it appears the time is finally here for the closure. An alternative airport to be used for landing passengers meant for Abuja airport, which is Kaduna international airport has been declared ready for diversion move.
Though last week, the Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo expressed doubt over Kaduna airport being ready by 7th of March for such big move. But it seems some speedy rehabilitation works were done on the Kaduna international airport to get it ready for the diversion.
So, it is very clear that the last flight to Nnamdi Azikiwe International airport must before or by 11.59pm, today.
