The House of Representatives has condemned the murder of Mrs. Eunice Olawale who was murdered last weekend in Kubwa, an Abuja suburb, while preaching in the early hours of the morning.

It called for increased security in the Federal Capital Territory  (FCT), and urged the acting Inspector General of Police, Mr. Ibrahim Idris, to ensure that her murderers are brought to justice.

The lawmakers also called on the FCT administration to demolish shanties across the nation’s capital, which they said usually harbours miscreants.

Hon. Gabriel Kolawole  (Ondo APC) noted in a motion of urgent public importance that the incident is already causing tension in the FCT due to reports that some religious extremists may have been involved in her murder.

He therefore harped on the need for the police to be proactive to prevent a breakdown of law and order and further loss of lives.

The lawmakers held a minute of silence in memory of the slain mother of seven.

Meanwhile a letter from President Muhammadu Buhari to the House seeking passage of the 2016 budget proposals of 38 agencies and corporations, was read by Speaker Yakubu Dogara.

The letter dated June 30, 2016, requested for expeditious passage of the budgets.
