Many people were injured  yesterday and property worth millions of naira  destroyed when some youths of Yoruba and Ibo exactions engaged themselves in a free for all fight at the Ladipo spare parts market, Mushin, Lagos.
Also, angry youths yesterday attacked the Owode police station, Ikorodu road.
Daily Sun gathered that two men from Yoruba and Ibo extraction went to eat at a food vendor’s shed and engaged themselves in an argument.
It was gathered that the argument degenerated  into a fight.
A witness disclosed that the fracas took a tribal dimension as both Igbo and Yoruba youths took sides with their kinsmen.
It was gathered that  dangerous weapons, such as dagger and broken bottles were freely used.
However, the State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Dolapo Badmos, who confirmed the incident, said, “no life was lost, three vehicles burnt, four men were injured and were rushed to the hospital.”
In another development, Daily Sun gathered that the Owode police station, Ajegunle area, Ikorodu Road was attacked by angry mob and some policemen were injured.
Daily Sun gathered that trouble started when the police rescued a suspected  child kidnapper which did not go down well with the angry mob that wanted to lynch the woman.
It was gathered that the woman, who dressed like a mad person had succeeded in kidnapping a little boy who she allegedly lured with pack of sweet.
A witness, Martins Udoh said, “the woman was taking the child away when somebody raised the alarm and the woman was arrested.  When she was interrogated by the mob, she confessed that she  abducted the child.
“The mob descended on her and wanted to set her ablaze when the police arrived and rescued her.”
The mob were not happy as they felt the police would soon release her.  They descended on the policemen who they chased to the station.
“The mob pelted the police with stones, and injured many officers but the mob was later dispersed with tear gas.”
Badmos said that “it is true our men were attacked.  A suspected kidnapper was rescued at Zion Street Ajegunle.  The angry mob bombarded the station with stones and bottles but the situation is under control.
“The suspect who was badly bartered was treated and handed over to the state Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) for investigation into the child stealing.  The Sun
