EFCC: Witness Admits Error In His Evidence In Badeh’s Trial

A prosecution witness of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Air Commodore Salisu Yushau has admitted that he made an error in his previous statement to the EFCC during interogation.

Recall that when testifying before the court during the trial, Yushau told the court how he assisted Badeh to convert N558m from funds meant for the Nigerian Air Force into dollars and subsequently delivered it to the former military chief in his then official residence at Niger barracks Abuja.

Yushau told the court that Badeh ordered the posting of a junior officer to him, Captain Sini, whose job was to personally change the money into dollars as he only directs.

He added that Sini usually brought the dollar equivalent to him for onward transfer to Badeh.

“Badeh ordered the posting of Group Captain Sini to me, to personally handle the changing of over N558m into dollars.

“When Sini converts the money into dollars, he brings the money to me and I personally take the dollar equivalent to Badeh in his house.”

“My Command Finance Officers has all the records of all the money I gave to Badeh.”

“While I was in custody of the EFCC, my finance officers were also invited and they gave the records of all the properties procured for Badeh.  The Sun
