Finally someone in authourity is noticing the serious security risks posed by Fulani herdsmen, and their incessant nationwide killings and rapings, abductions, and lately kidnappings. And who is the best man to notice that than the Minister of Interior, who is the person in charge of national internal security.
I just hope that he is not about talking without actuions becuase the actions of these Fulani herdsmen should be rightfully declared, a national security emergency, judging by their frequency of occurence.
The Minister of Interior, Gen Abdulraham Dambazau (Rtd), Friday reinstated the Federal Government’s commitment towards curbing all forms of criminality and terrorism in the country.
Dambazua who stated this in Asaba, Delta State while fielding questions from newsmen, lamented that every part of the country was experiencing one form of security challenge or the other.
He said the Ministry was doing everything possible to tackle the challenges by way of capacity building and equipment of her security agents, adding that the ministry was the hub of public safety in Nigeria.
The Minister expressed Federal Government’s concern about the security of lives of all Nigerians. adding that the security challenge being posed by Fulani Herdsmen was a national issue.
The time to act on the terrorism being meted out by these almost untouchable Fulani’s or soon, and very soon, the communities will rise up and take law into their hands. Then, the consquences will be immense, and have far reaching national blowback effects that may be very hard to handle.
