Anyone who knew her great works as the ex-Head of The House Committee on Diaspora Affairs, should see this as a welcome development. She did some great work for Nigerians in diasopra. Sometimes some Nigerians in disapora wished she had stayed longer in that position.
Those who wished so should heave a sigh of relief because the President has given her a job very close to the one she held before. I watched her in several occassions speak passionately about the plights of Nigerians in diaspora.
President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Abike Dabiri-Erewa as his Senior Special Assistant on Foreign Affairs and the Diaspora.
Hon. Abike Dabiri Dabiri-Erewa was a former Chair of the House Committee on Diaspora Affairs and Chair of the House Committee on Media and Publicity.
The former broadcaster, who was born in Jos, Plateau State, was elected into the House of Representatives, representing Ikorodu Constituency in Lagos State in 2003. She was re-elected in 2007 and 2011.
