Changing the face of comedy in the 1980s with his over-the-top and raw style, Eddie Murphy took the world by storm as a regular on Saturday Night Live from 1980 to 1984. He then became one of the highest grossing movies stars of all time with blockbuster hits like Shrek, Dreamgirls, Beverly Hills Cop and The Nutty Professor.
Not to be outdone when it comes to stardom and even kids, Murphy kicks things up a notch on our list with a total of nine children. His first son, Eric, was born in 1989 with Paulette McNeely only to be followed the next year with a second son, Christian, with Tamara Hood. Murphy then married Nicole Mitchell in 1993 and welcomed five children – Bria, Shayne, Zola, Bella and Myles. Getting the surprise of his life in 2007, Murphy discovered that his parenting was far from over as his former girlfriend, Spice Girl Melanie Brown, confirmed he had an eighth child, a daughter by the name of Angel Iris. As of November 2015, the 54-year-old Murphy announced that he and model Page Butcher are expecting. Talk about a shock!
I suppose that is in his African gene. In Africa we love babies, family and we know how to keep all together too. Family, children and even extended family, the more the better for an average African. It is cultural and great too. I learnt that in Africa when the funds are scarce the family stick even closer and tighter. Though he lacked some of those, but he kept the baby making side of his African side.
